Are you looking for a career as a registered MLT? Join our team at St. Louis Children's Hospital to make a direct impact on patient care and operations.
Main duties include collecting patient samples, venipuncture skills (or willing to learn) and the regular lab tech duties (sample testing, equipment operation, quality control, and results reporting).
  • Full Time - 40 Hours Per Week, M-F, Rotating Weekends (8am-2pm)
  • Day Shift: Rotating Schedule
    • 6am-230pm, 7am-330pm, 930am-6pm

    • Associate's degree in a physical, life science, or related field
    • MLT-ASCP, MLS-ASCP or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications
Role Purpose
The Medical Lab Technician (MLT) II (REG) performs specimen processing and routine / complex testing on blood and other specimens which requires a knowledge and understanding of quality control, basic instrument maintenance, and procedure methodologies and reference ranges. Maintains appropriate documentation of all activities as required. Demonstrates good laboratory practice
Responsibilities
  • Reports and maintains record of patient test results through the laboratory computer system accurately, meeting published turn around times for routine testing and stats.
  • Documents patient test management problems/concerns on quality documents and initiates corrective action.
  • Performs quality controls for all equipment and troubleshoots malfunctioning instrumentation as necessary. Monitors quality control performance and corrects any problems and or reports any problems to the appropriate department.
  • Operates all instrumentation in assigned areas to deliver precise, timely, and accurate laboratory results. Performs laboratory procedures for specimen collection, processing, test analysis.
  • Trains new personnel in methods, procedures and use of equipment and instruments specific to the assigned area.
