Job description

Davis Tool, Inc., a long established Hillsboro manufacturer, supports its customers by offering advanced technology manufacturing 24 hours per day. Our quality, customer service, and on-time delivery are second to none. At this time, we have an immediate opening for an Entry-Level Manufacturing Operator in our metal finishing operations. We expect successful candidates will learn skills needed to move into a career as a Finishing Operator or even a machinist in our main factory.
The role involves prepping, racking, and masking parts, as well as processing metal parts through chemical plating and surface coating process tanks. This position is on Swing Shift, and is part of our leadership pipeline career pathway and can lead to high level careers in Machining, Programming, Engineering, or Management for the right candidate.
This is an entry level position and no experience is required.

Monday - Friday Work Week:
  • Swing Shift: 3:15 PM - 11:45 PM (5% Shift Differential)

Daily Tasks typically include:
  • Racking and masking parts according to customer specifications
  • Inspecting parts
  • Communicating with leaders and peers about problems and possible solutions
  • Measuring performance against time and quality standards
  • Accurately communicating with the supervisor regarding process problems and solutions
  • Efficiently communicating necessary information to fellow team members
  • Strictly working within defined processes to insure quality and meeting production output goals
  • Continually working to refine processes to improve quality and efficiency
  • Running anodizing and zinc plating production

We are looking for candidates with the following attributes:
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good computer skills
  • Are able to routinely handle objects weighing up to 50lbs
  • Able to stand for 8 hours per day, stooping, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, climbing, walking through a large manufacturing facility and maneuvering heavy materials throughout the shift
  • Good attendance and attention to detail
  • Continued learning and education
  • Demonstrated record of increasing responsibility
