Bartender (Part-Time)

Vitense Golfland – Madison, WI 

Position: Bartender 
Employment Type: Part-time 
Schedule: Flexible scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. We are currently seeking bartenders who are able to commit to at least 2 shifts per week. Shifts typically range from 6-8 hours in length. 
Compensation: $12/hr + tips

Founded by George and Odie Vitense, the business is now proudly operated by the 3rd and 4th generations of the Vitense family, continuing a long tradition of creating fun, memorable experiences for guests of all ages. 

Our facility includes a Top 50 golf range, a lit par-3 golf coursethree miniature golf courses, a full-service restaurant and bar, quick-service dining options, Odie’s Beer Garden, batting cages, and the Vitense Golf Academy. Every team member helps ensure guests enjoy all that Vitense has to offer. 

About the Role: 

Vitense Golfland is seeking outgoing, friendly, and organized Bartenders to join the team at Babes at Vitense, our restaurant and bar. Bartenders are responsible for preparing beverages for the entire facility, not just bar guests. This includes drinks for: 

  • Bar and dine-in customers 
  • Walk-up guests 
  • Golf range food & beverage service 
  • Events and group outings 
  • Kiosk and mobile POS orders 

This role requires excellent communication, accuracy, and the ability to monitor incoming tickets while staying organized during high-volume periods. 

Key Responsibilities:

Beverage Preparation: 

  • Mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including specialty cocktails 
  • Prepare drinks accurately and efficiently based on ticket volume 
  • Learn specialty menu drinks to ensure consistency and quality 

Guest Service & Order Management:  

  • Provide friendly, attentive service and personalized drink recommendations 
  • Verify guest IDs for legal drinking age compliance 
  • Monitor and prioritize incoming tickets from multiple service areas 
  • Communicate with servers, runners, and managers to ensure timely order delivery 
  • Serve guests seated at the bar for dining 

Bar Maintenance: 

  • Maintain a clean, organized, fully stocked bar area 
  • Monitor inventory and communicate restocking needs to management 
  • Follow best practices for sanitation, safety, and responsible alcohol service 

Qualifications and Skills: 

  • Must be 18+ years old 
  • Positive attitude and strong communication skills 
  • Bartending experience preferred, but we will train the right candidate 
  • Must have or be willing to obtain a valid bartender license 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment 
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to stand and remain mobile behind the bar for extended periods (typically 6–8 hour shifts) 
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs (e.g., cases of beverages, CO2 tanks, kegs for tapping, bags of ice, etc.) 
  • Ability to bend, reach, and move quickly in a confined bar space to access supplies, equipment, and service areas 
  • Ability to move between the bar and service stations as needed to support drink preparation for the full facility 
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment that requires constant motion, awareness, and multitasking
