Position Overview


The goal of the Department of Athletics at Cherry Hills Christian School is to provide an environment of competition, cooperation, and teamwork for our students that glorifies God and provides valuable life lessons. Winning the contest is important to any competitor, but the lessons learned in the heat of competition are the most important attributes to be gained from the contest.

The Golf Coach is committed to honoring Christ by preparing students to live fully for God in a rapidly changing world, knowing they are His masterpieces, uniquely designed for His purpose. The Coach ensures that the learning environment is Christian-based, nurturing, wholesome, and loving


Key Responsibilities


Plan and conduct practice session, 2 days per weekย 

Practices - Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:00 - 5:30 p.m.ย 

Distribute and collect team uniforms

Communicate with players and parents about expectations of our program.

Create a positive environment for all players.

Work closely and in collaboration with the Athletic Director

Respect professional ethics that require confidentiality

Follow procedures as set by the Athletic Director

Have a personal and passionate relationship with Jesus Christ and a calling to serve as a positive Christian role model to our students

Be a dedicated and loyal team member supporting all school-level activities and school-wide initiatives

Possess a strong desire to coach and develop athletes at the middle school level

Be a responsible steward of the school's resources.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must have a strong and growing relationship with Jesus Christ and it should be evident in both the personal and professional life

Must be able to uphold and support the mission statement, values, and faith statement.

Have prior experience in coaching at the and/or collegiate playing experience

Possess the ability to mentor student athletes in their Christian faith, athletic skills and life skills

Be adept at engaging with student athletes and families; helpful in making parents confident in their choice of Cherry Hills Christian

Understand and embrace Christian education, having a biblical perspective on athletics and competition

Be able to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others

Be personable, energetic and approachable

Report to work on a regular and punctual basis

Demonstrate excellent communication skills

Be willing to collaborate with colleagues

Be proficient in technology

Must be able to pass a criminal background check

High School Diploma or higher

Field event experience preferred

Must possess a CPR certification, or be willing to obtain one before the season
