The Senior Assistant Golf Professional will oversee and manage but limited to the golf operation, merchandising, lesson curriculum, tournaments, and work cooperatively with other departments. The position will promote an exceptional "golf experience," and provide excellent services and programs to all patrons.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and direct other golf professionals in day-to-day operations, as well as all golf operations employees.
  • Act as lead assistant professional. Act as a role model for all employees by demonstrating the behavior and work ethic expected of all employees
  • Ensure the highest level of services for our members.
  • Assist the Head Golf Professional with operational needs and financial targets and plans.
  • Oversee all daily operations of the facility including golf operations & Golf merchandise concessions.
  • Promoting and operating the facility to drive revenue.
  • Spearhead training, supervising and motivating the staff to meet facility objectives, especially in providing exceptional customer service.
  • Oversee the reservation system, starting, and monitoring of play.
  • Track and verify all players and guests, golf cars, club care, lockers, handicap fees, and other charges necessary, and facilitate proper controls.
  • Assist in Player Development programs using PGA tools and resources. Enforce all rules and regulations governing golf course usage.
  • Develop and manage an innovative tournament program that services all customer segments.
  • Assist in the marketing and promotion of new memberships / play.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets, including forecasting and reviewing of all golf revenues and expenses on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis.
  • Establish sales goals and forecasts for all golf programs and services, monitor and analyze reports.
  • Assist the Head Golf Professional with ordering, receiving, invoicing, and placing merchandise on the sales floor in a presentable fashion.
  • Assist the Head Golf Professional with the preparation of golf tournament outings, utilizing Golf Genius.
  • Assist the Head Golf Professional with the tracking, maintenance, receiving, and returning of leased rental clubs.
  • Directly responsible for timely and consistently maintaining the club's USGA Handicap System
  • Service and customer focused attitude

Note: Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
Education:
A minimum of two years of college, or equivalent experience will be considered. Candidates should possess experience in staff supervision, golf instruction, customer service, and computer technology including POS.
  • Maintain PGA of America membership in good standing in an active classification
  • Actively pursue PGA membership (if a PGA Apprentice) in a timely manner through the PGA Professional Golf Management (PGA PGM) program
  • Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf facility operations and tournament operations
  • Fundamental supervisory practices and principles
