Job description

The Pro Shop Attendant is responsible for assisting with the operation and/or appearance of the golf pro shop.
Pay Rate:  $13.75 per hour
Major Duties/Specific Tasks

  • Assists with operation of facility by collecting fees for golf, golf cart rentals and resale items; taking golf reservations; operating cash registers and issuing fee receipt tickets; selling merchandise and maintaining shelf stock of supplies by loading and/or unloading supplies; dispensing of golf club rental equipment and golf cars, which may include lifting of heavy objects, and providing instructions on use.
  • Assists with public relations by greeting park visitors, handling inquiries, and providing information and assistance, and informing patrons of rules and regulations.
  • Answers telephone and directs inquiries.
  • Assists with appearance of pro shop facilities by maintaining work area by cleaning and providing general care of equipment and grounds, cleaning restroom facilities, emptying trash receptacles, dusting, cleaning windows, etc.
  • Performing routine maintenance as directed.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings and in-service training.
  • Reports unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty.
  • Carries out additional duties as assigned by the Park Manager or Supervisor on Duty.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the game of golf and golf operations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with the public.
  • Ability to operate cash registers and handle cash accurately.
  • Working knowledge of computers.
  • Ability to learn the operation of the facility and to obtain a working knowledge of NOVA Parks.
  • Strength and dexterity necessary to perform all required tasks, including lifting, stooping, bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
  • Ability to perform a variety of duties including custodial tasks.
  • Availability to work a variable work schedule, which may include early and late hours, and weekends and holidays.
  • Required to purchase and wear standard uniform.
  • Specialized duties and assignments related to a facility may require special training and/or certifications.
