Position OverviewShanty Creek Resorts is seeking an experienced, instruction-focused Golf Professional to join our team at Schuss Golf Course. This role is ideal for a passionate golf instructor who enjoys teaching players of all skill levels while also helping shape engaging programs and events.
The primary emphasis of this position is teaching and player development through private lessons, group instruction, and clinics. In addition, this role offers the opportunity to lead and organize instructional clinics, tournament-style play programs, member outings, and special golf events that enhance guest engagement and participation.
This is a hands-on, guest-facing role that blends instruction, program leadership, and collaboration with golf leadership to grow the game and elevate the Schuss golf experience.

Key ResponsibilitiesInstruction & Player Development
  • Provide high-quality private and group golf instruction for players of all ages and skill levels
  • Design and deliver engaging lessons focused on fundamentals, swing mechanics, short game, and course management
  • Create a welcoming, supportive learning environment that builds player confidence and enjoyment
Clinics, Programs & Events
  • Lead instructional clinics and workshops, including setting agendas, lesson structure, and learning objectives
  • Develop and organize course tournament play programs, instructional leagues, and skills-based events
  • Support and help coordinate member outings, tournaments, and special golf events
  • Create programs that encourage player development, repeat participation, and guest retention
Course Knowledge & Collaboration
  • Maintain strong knowledge of course layout and playing conditions to support effective instruction
  • Collaborate with golf leadership to promote instructional offerings and program participation
  • Serve as a professional ambassador for Schuss Golf Course and Shanty Creek Resorts

Minimum Qualifications
  • PGA Certified Professional
  • Demonstrated experience providing golf instruction to individuals and groups
  • Strong understanding of swing mechanics, fundamentals, and player development

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience leading instructional clinics or structured teaching programs
  • Experience creating or supporting golf tournaments, leagues, or member events
  • Knowledge of golf course operations and playing conditions
