Job Summary

The Turf Technician is responsible for the daily maintenance, health, and aesthetic appearance of turfgrass and surrounding landscapes at our [golf course / sports complex / commercial properties]. This role involves operating specialized equipment, applying fertilizers and plant protectants, troubleshooting irrigation systems, and performing general groundskeeping duties to ensure a safe and pristine environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Turf Maintenance: Perform regular mowing, trimming, edging, aerating, and topdressing of turf areas using commercial-grade equipment.

  • Chemical & Fertilizer Application: Safely mix, handle, and apply fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, and insecticides according to label instructions and local regulations.

  • Turf Health Monitoring: Inspect turf daily for signs of stress, disease, weed infestation, or pest damage, and report findings to the supervisor.

  • Irrigation Management: Assist in the operation, inspection, and basic repair of irrigation systems (e.g., fixing broken sprinkler heads, adjusting timers, checking for leaks).

  • Equipment Operation & Maintenance: Operate a variety of equipment including ride-on mowers, tractors, sprayers, blowers, and hand tools. Perform daily preventative maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
