Job Summary
The purpose of this position is to provide supervision of various golf operations: Assists with Pro Shop management, sales, and revenue collection, schedules tee times, prepares and organizes tournament and special events. Monitors pace of play, schedules and supervises marshals, conducts daily inspection of cart fleet, conducts lessons and clinics, inspects, and maintains driving range and learning center. Assists Head Golf Pro with merchandise inventory and restocking, daily reports, and the development of marketing and promotional plans. Provides direction and supervision for shop employees and golf cart attendants.
Essential Job Functions
This information is intended to be descriptive of the key responsibilities of the position. The following examples do not identify all duties performed by any single incumbent.
This position has responsibilities that require lifting up to 10 pounds on occasion.
  • Supervises Pro Shop Operations: opening and closing of course and pro shop, daily reports cash close out, customer service, collection of greens fees, cart rental and pro shop sales. Supervision of Pro Shop attendants.
  • Supervision of golf cart attendants, daily fleet inspection, rental of carts and daily reporting.
  • Provides customer service by greeting and assisting customers, check in and announce start time, manage pace of play, handle customer complaints, report unsafe conditions, close course as needed based on safety. Supervise golf course marshal. Interacts with customers to provide "Raving Fan" service.
  • Provides tournament assistance to groups holding independent tournaments. Plan, organize and administer department golf tournament. Handle calls and requests related to tournament scheduling.
  • Provide assistance to learning center activities by providing lessons on demand, conducts daily clinics, daily inspections of driving range, putting green and learning center.
  • Helps develop marketing and promotion programs and events for golf course. Staffs trade shows, special events and departmental functions.
  • Provides assistance to Head Golf Pro.
  • Performs some administrative duties by taking phone calls, ordering supplies, and collecting fees.
  • Regular and dependable attendance is required.
  • All other duties as assigned by a supervisor/manager within your department/division.

Minimum Qualifications
Any combination equivalent to experience and training that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may qualify. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills and abilities would be:
  • Education: High School diploma or GED
  • Experience: 2-4 years of related experience
  • Licenses: Valid Driver's License required
  • Certifications Required: Must be a P.G.A. member in good standing
