Job Summary
The Golf Course Marshal provides excellent customer service and promotes the game of golf through monitoring play on the golf course. Ensure that play moves smoothly and customers adhere to course policies and procedures. High school diploma or the equivalency is necessary unless currently attending school. A valid driver's license is required to operate golf carts. The Course Marshal position requires that an employee work for long periods of time outside in different types of weather. Physical requirements include stooping, bending, and lifting an average weight of 30 pounds.

Days:
Varied, including weekends and holidays
Hours:
Set Hours - 16 Hours Required Weekly
Core Responsibilities
  • Manage the flow of the golf course through excellent customer service while responding to golfers' questions, requests, and concerns
  • Inform golfers about golfing operations, including restroom locations, water coolers, refreshments, pin placements, tee locations, wet areas, etc.
  • Direct golfers around the course, if they are unfamiliar with the layout
  • Inform golfers about course policies, and let golfers know when they might be in violation of course policy
  • Assist golfers search for lost balls or gently suggest they give up the search to keep the pace of play going as needed
  • Mediate disputes that might arise between groups on the golf course when appropriate
  • Seek out opportunities to care for the course, including repairing ball marks, sanding tee-boxes, replacing divots, picking up debris, etc.
  • Look for ways to maintain the pace of play on the golf course
  • Inform Golf Shop Supervisor of any problems or complaints from customers as soon as possible
  • Other duties as assigned by management
