Established in 2023, The Gate Golf Club is a non-profit organization dedicated to expanding access to golf and creating a lasting impact on the Southwest Florida community. Scheduled to open in late 2026, The Gate will feature:


· Oakwood Grill -a 175-seat freestanding full-service restaurant

· The Pavilion Bar

· The Gimme concessions

· The Bays - 30-bay state-of-the-art practice range with Trackman technology

· The Gater 18-Hole putting course

· Jacobsen-Hardy designed 9-hole regulation-length golf course


Recognizing the limited availability of public courses in Southwest Florida, The Gate Golf Club is dedicated to making the sport more accessible for families and players of all skill levels.


The 1st Assistant Golf Professional will support the Director of Golf in the launch and daily management of golf operations, with responsibility across the golf shop, tee sheet, practice facilities, Golf Academy, tournaments, instruction, player development, merchandising and guest experience.

Requirements:

· Manage and support daily golf operations and guest services

· Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and develop golf operations staff

· Oversee tee sheet activity, pace of play, player flow, carts, and practice facilities

· Provide oversight and active engagement with the Golf Academy, supporting its programming, operations, instruction, player development, and growth

· Support golf shop merchandising, inventory, POS, and product receiving

· Plan and execute tournaments, outings, leagues, clinics, and special events

· Provide individual instruction, clinics, junior programming, and player development

· Support the development and delivery of Golf Academy programs for juniors, families, beginners, and experienced players

· Maintain operational procedures, records, GHIN systems, and documentation

· Collaborate with food & beverage, marketing, maintenance, programming, and leadership

· Maintain strong vendors, industry, instructor, association, and community relationships

· Play a key role in pre-opening and grand-opening preparations, including shop setup, staffing, training, tee sheet/POS testing, range procedures, and programming


Qualifications

· High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required

· 3+ years of progressive golf operations, golf shop, club, resort, public golf, or related hospitality experience

· Demonstrated leadership experience

· PGA Member, Associate, PGM student, or active pursuit of PGA membership preferred

· Strong knowledge of golf rules, etiquette, tournaments, handicaps, instruction, and player development

· Comfortable with golf technology, POS, tee sheet, tournament, and range systems

· Strong communication, organization, coaching, leadership, and guest-service skills

· Flexible availability for mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, tournaments, clinics, and peak seasons
