What does a golf club builder do?

A Golf Club Builder is a skilled professional who assembles, repairs, and customizes golf clubs to suit individual players' needs. Their work involves selecting the right shafts, grips, and clubheads, as well as ensuring precise measurements and specifications for optimal performance. Golf Club Builders use specialized tools and techniques to ensure each club is balanced and tailored for the golfer’s swing and playing style.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a golf club builder?

To thrive as a Golf Club Builder, you need precision craftsmanship, a solid understanding of golf club mechanics, and experience with hand and power tools, often supported by training in club fitting or repair. Familiarity with swing analysis software, loft and lie machines, and specialized measuring equipment is typically required. Attention to detail, problem-solving, and strong communication skills help you deliver custom solutions and work effectively with clients and teammates.
