Job description

Position Summary

The Golf Pro Shop / Cart Staff plays a key role in delivering excellent customer service to members and guests. This position is responsible for assisting with daily golf operations, including pro shop sales, tee time coordination, golf cart staging and maintenance, and ensuring an enjoyable experience for all golfers.


Key Responsibilities

Pro Shop Duties

  • Greet members and guests in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Assist with tee time bookings, check-ins, and point-of-sale transactions.
  • Maintain merchandise displays, restock shelves, and keep the pro shop clean and organized.
  • Provide product knowledge and assist customers with golf merchandise, apparel, and equipment.
  • Answer phones and respond to member inquiries.

Golf Cart & Outside Services

  • Stage golf carts, ensure they are clean, fully charged, and stocked with scorecards, pencils, and tees.
  • Greet players upon arrival, assist with loading/unloading clubs, and provide excellent customer service.
  • Monitor pace of play and assist with course flow as directed by golf professional staff.
  • Clean, fuel, and store carts at the end of each day; report any maintenance issues.
  • Maintain the practice range, including picking balls, washing, and restocking.

General Operations

  • Assist in organizing and supporting golf tournaments and outings.
  • Ensure compliance with all club policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Communicate effectively with golf staff, food & beverage staff, and other departments to ensure seamless service.
  • Provide a welcoming, helpful, and professional environment for members and guests.

Qualifications

  • Prior golf, retail, or hospitality experience preferred but not required.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
  • Must be dependable, punctual, and team oriented.
  • Flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Knowledge of golf is a plus.
