TITLE: FOREMAN/CREW LEADER
LOCATION: ORANGE PARK, FL (OPERATING AREA: CLAY, DUVAL COUNTIES)
FUNCTION: CONSTRUCTION & LEADERSHIP/MANAGEMENT
CLASSIFICATION: FULL TIME - NON-EXEMPT - HOURLY
REPORTS TO: FIELD SUPERVISOR
POSITION SCOPE AND ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT
A Dock Experts Marine Construction Superintendent plans, coordinates, and leads a team of tradesman and contractors, and performs work on daily, weekly, and project-based activities for our marine construction projects. High levels of integrity, accountability, foresight, and an unshakable ability to maintain and inspire a consistent positive, can-do attitude are necessary in upholding TDX quality and safety standards while disrupting and challenging the industry status quo.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Ensure an exceptional end-to-end project experience in planning, demolition, construction, installation, service, and maintenance of seawalls, pilings, docks, boat lifts, and marine accessories.
Provide guidance and oversight in drafting, constructability, permitting requirements, and be the liaison between the permitting, drafting, and engineering teams, verifying that the quality of materials, equipment, and workmanship complies with contract specifications and relevant codes
Develop project schedules in collaboration with the branch GM, procurement & logistics, and office personnel
Provide daily written reports on updates and communicate expectations with the team, anticipating current and future project needs
Ensure your team has the necessary materials, safety equipment, supervision, standard operating procedure (SOP) training, coaching, and mentorship to complete projects within TDX standards
Provide quality control oversight of your work team, self-performed, and subcontracted work
Participate in project meetings, and be a liaison between field engineers and your team to ensure electrical components of the project comply with drawings and specifications
Work with engineering staff to ensure plans, specifications, submittals and RFIs are transmitted to subcontractors accurately and timely
Identify hiring needs and participate in hiring, and performance decisions including dismissal as needed
Develop leadership potential through appropriate task assignments and career growth opportunities
Productively, and respectfully resolve conflicts and disputes, both personal and within your team and other company personnel and
Maintain positive and professional relationships with all visitors to the site: customers, architects, inspectors, subcontractors, etc.
Analyze job safety and efficiency and provide proactive suggestions and solutions for improvement
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
ESSENTIAL JOB, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Construction and/or 5+ years in marine construction or related field
Minimum 5 years' experience in construction, preferably marine construction
Experience managing construction projects including budgeting, scheduling, & resource planning
Strong problem-solving skills, ability to make sound decisions & take decisive action quickly
Experience leading a team, with the ability to effectively communicate and consistently motivate to keep projects on or ahead of schedule, often in tough working conditions
Possess a working knowledge of engineering drawings, sketches, and blueprints
Physical stamina to walk, stand, bend, and lift heavy objects (50+ lbs.) regularly
Ability to work a full shift in challenging outdoor conditions, including extreme heat and marine environments
Ability to swim, work at heights, & in confined spaces, as required by certain projects
Ability to pass a controlled substance screening
Ability to pass a background check
Maintain a current, valid driver's license
Maintain reliable personal transportation to commute to and from work
Conversational in English

OSHA 10 & OSHA 30 Certified
CPR & First Aid Certified
Class A CDL license
