Position: GM Procurement Specialist
Department:
Procurement
Reports to: VP of Procurement
Location: Slingshot Distribution Center | Marion, Indiana
General Job Description: The GM Procurement Specialist is responsible for maintaining and ordering all General Merchandise products across all Slingshot locations. They will maintain General Merchandise documentation according to purchase process, product type, and supplier account specifications, and communicating both internally and externally to problem-solve. Within a specified timeline, the GM Procurement Specialist will order general merchandise through a variety of vendors and ensure that those items arrive on time or are canceled if delayed and no longer needed.
Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining regular vendor communication about Slingshot needs and orders
  • Monitor a shared inbox
  • Placing GM orders and ensuring they are being completed by their assigned due dates 
  • Create and maintain new products in the GM software
  • Complete and deliver required reporting to GM vendors and/or licensing companies as assigned
  • Support store managers in questions and concerns related to their GM inventory needs
  • Communicate with multiple departments to problem-solve, create, and carry out resolutions
  • Complete special projects or requests as needed
  • Meet weekly with team members to discuss upcoming strategies, review progress of past week, and problem-solve obstacles of specific tasks.

  • Candidate must be organized, self-motivated, and goal-oriented
