Job description

Summary:

Responsibilities for this role include spooling, visual inspection, installation and packaging of coiled tubing for both domestic and international shipments. Working in small teams, spooling technicians utilize proprietary spooling equipment to execute tasks for both internal and external customers while interacting with operational departments throughout Global Tubing.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Perform work in a professional and safe manner, report unsafe work practices.
  • Operates level winds to roll tubing safely and accurately to maintain a high level of quality.
  • Uses hand tools and powered hand tools to perform various work.
  • Visually inspects tubing to discover and report any issues with quality or workmanship and reports those issues to management.
  • Develops and demonstrates a clear understanding of a coiled tubing business and the expected outputs.
  • May be certified to operate forklifts and / or cranes to perform material or equipment movements.
  • Interfaces with customers, company personnel and civilians while maintaining a professional image and can-do attitude.
  • Inspects and maintains equipment including but not limited to tools, spooling foundations, structural supports, and anchoring systems to ensure equipment stability and safe operation during spooling activities.
  • Supports operational teams with safe movement of materials, pipe handling, and equipment preparation when required to maintain workflow efficiency.
  • Ensures all work is performed in accordance with company safety standards, OSHA requirements, and safe work practices, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills/Knowledge

  • Physical strength and ability to perform moderate to heavy manual labor, including frequent bending, walking and heavy lifting, and pushing / pulling heavy loads for extended periods under dirty and uncomfortable conditions and in all types of weather.
  • Must be able to lift 45 lbs. and carry that weight a distance of 50 feet or more.
  • Knowledge of coiled tubing, pipe manufacturing and / or experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Must have knowledge of basic mathematics, such as addition and subtraction of fractions and decimals.
  • Must be able to write and record information legibly on all documents and logs.
  • Must be able to read and understand training materials.

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience

  • Experience directly related is typically required for carrying out the responsibilities for this job position, however, persons with no experience in coiled tubing operations may be considered if they have related competencies.
  • Valid drivers license.

This is a safety-sensitive position.
