Job description

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Viant is seeking a Sr. Stock Plan Administration Manager to support and scale the company's equity incentive programs, including non-qualified stock options, restricted stock units, and performance-based stock. This role reports to the Director of Stock Plan Administration to ensure accurate, compliant, and efficient administration of equity programs, while driving process improvements and strengthening controls.

The Sr. Stock Plan Administration Manager will serve as a key operational leader, managing day-to-day equity administration activities, supporting audit readiness, and partnering cross-functionally with HR, Legal, Finance, and Payroll to ensure data integrity and alignment across systems.

THE DAY-TO-DAY
  • Manage the administration of equity compensation programs, including grant processing, vesting, exercises, terminations, and share tracking
  • Maintain the integrity of equity data across systems (EEO, HRIS, and reporting tools), including regular reconciliation between Stock Administration, HR, and Payroll
  • Partner with HR to manage equity grant processes, ensuring alignment with internal policies, approval workflows, and data governance practices
  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports to support financial reporting, including earnings per share (EPS), equity award tables, beneficial ownership tables, and disclosures for SEC filings (Form 10-K, 10-Q, and proxy statements)
  • Assist with the preparation and filing of Section 16 disclosures (Forms 3, 4, 5, and 144) and support tracking of executive 10b5-1 plans
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes by providing equity-related analyses and reporting to Finance, Accounting and Tax teams
  • Design, execute, and document equity-related SOX controls, and implement best practices to strengthen the control environment
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Legal, Finance, Tax, HR, and Payroll to ensure compliance with equity plan terms, regulatory requirements, and company policies
  • Partner with internal and external auditors by preparing documentation, supporting audit requests, and addressing inquiries
  • Analyze and reconcile large datasets to identify discrepancies, ensure completeness, and improve data quality
  • Contribute to the development and documentation of SOPs and scalable processes to support company growth and audit readiness
  • Assist in managing relationships with third-party providers, including transfer agents and equity system vendors
  • Respond to inquiries from Class B unit holders and support related communications
  • Provide education and support to employees regarding equity awards, including responding to complex inquiries and maintaining equity-related content on the Company's internal website
  • Manage and support special projects, including system implementations, process improvements, and equity program enhancements
GREAT TO HAVE
  • 5+ years of stock plan administration experience, preferably in a U.S. public company
  • Certified Equity Professional (CEP) Level 1 required; Level 3 strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of equity compensation plans and related accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements
  • Experience working with stock administration systems (e.g., E*TRADE / Equity Edge Online)
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills in Excel (complex data analysis, Vlookups, Pivot tables), Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience supporting SOX compliance and working with internal/external auditors
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data integrity
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and operate in a dynamic, rapidly evolving organization
  • Proven ability to build relationships and collaborate cross-functionally; excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability

Base compensation range: $160,000 - $180,000
In accordance with California law, the range provided is Viant's reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role.ย  Final title and compensation for the position will be based on several factors including work experience and education.
