INVESTMENT BANKING 

Our division works on some of the most complex financial challenges and transactions in the market today. Whether advising on a merger, providing financial solutions for an acquisition, or structuring an initial public offering, we handle projects that help clients at major milestones. We work with corporations, pension funds, financial sponsors, and governments and are team of strong analytical thinkers, who have a passion for producing out-of-the-box ideas.

OUR IMPACT

PSI sits within the Americas Financing Group in the Investment Banking Division. PSI provides debt underwriting and advisory services for sports franchises, not-for-profit hospital and healthcare organizations, state and local governmental entities, higher education organizations, public power and utility systems, transportation and mass transit agencies, and other public projects. The group focuses on origination, structuring and execution of a variety of debt, derivative, advisory, and public-private partnership transactions across the U.S. The multi-functional group combines client coverage with product expertise, capital markets expertise, credit analysis and deal execution. Our offices are headquartered in New York City, with regional offices in Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, Houston, and Atlanta.

The Global Sports Finance team works on a variety of high profile projects, including the financing of many of the new stadiums and arenas that have been built in the US and in Europe over recent years. Global Sports Finance focuses on the debt side of sports although we occasionally work on M&A engagements and with the Merchant Banking Division on the creation of new sports related companies. Sports facility financings led by our team include: Yankee Stadium, MetLife Stadium, Barclays Center, Amway Arena (Orlando), Twins Ballpark, Levi's Stadium, KFC Yum! Center, US Bank Stadium, Banc of California Stadium, Golden1 Centre, Fiserv Forum, and Tottenham Hotspurs Stadium. Additionally, Global Sports Finance does team and league financings, including those for Inter Milan Media Company, AS Roma Media Company, and the NFL. The Global Sports Finance team also led the inaugural financing that integral to the creation of Legends Hospitality, a company created by our Merchant Banking Division with the Yankees and Cowboys.

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

Vice Presidents in the PSI Sports Group lead deal processes guiding analyst and associate colleagues and have client relationship responsibilities. Vice Presidents will lead deal execution that include bond and credit structuring analysis, developing strategies and preparing presentations for rating agency presentations, assessing credit enhancement structures, reviewing legal and other offering documents, and examining product alternatives as pricing approaches. Vice Presidents drive process on the advisory side, including creating and analyzing financial models and performing scenario analyses and tests to examine the effects of alternatives. They organize and prepare presentations to explain industry trends, discuss client options, and recommend strategies to meet client goals. Vice Presidents also participate in and conduct due diligence sessions, a necessary component of financial transactions. In addition to leading analytic processes, Vice Presidents will be responsible for maintaining client relationships and communication and in driving business as we work collectively to structure client transactions.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES WE ARE LOOKING FOR 

Basic Qualifications

  • Strong academic record with Bachelor's level, equivalent or above required 
  • Significant (more than 4 years) experience in project finance and/or the sports sector, ideally with investment banking, financial services, or accounting experience
  • Experience in conducting business, financial and legal due-diligence; preparing marketing materials, RFPs and structuring transactions
  • Drive, enthusiasm, creativity and excellent stakeholder/client relationship management experience
  • Personal integrity, initiative and leadership qualities
  • Strong analytical background with experience working with large and complex data sets
  • Ability to lead banking and advisory analytic processes and manage analyst and associates
  • Strong communication (verbal and written), multi-tasking and time management skills
  • Must be a collaborative team player

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with debt structuring and capital markets execution 
  • Experience with client coverage and execution of M&A or other advisory transactions
  • Exposure to corporate finance and valuation analyses including DCF, LBO, merger consequences, WACC etc. 

Salary Range 
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $150,000-$300,000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
