Essential Job Functions
The GSOC Supervisor leads a team of GSOC Operators and Analysts, ensuring timely response to security incidents impacting personnel, cargo, facilities, transportation operations, and business continuity. The role is responsible for maintaining operational discipline, driving shift performance, validating incident assessments, approving escalations, coordinating cross[1]functional response activities, and ensuring the delivery of consistent global security services.
Shift Leadership & Personnel Management
- Supervise and direct assigned GSOC Operators and Analysts during scheduled shifts.
- Maintain accountability for shift performance, operational readiness, staffing coverage, and workload management.
- Assign duties and prioritize resources based upon operational risk, incident volume, and business requirements.
- Conduct shift briefings, turnover meetings, and operational updates.
- Monitor employee performance, provide coaching, mentoring, and developmental feedback.
- Ensure adherence to attendance, scheduling, training, and performance standards.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and certification of GSOC personnel.
- Foster a professional, intelligence-driven, and customer-focused security culture.
GSOC Operations & Monitoring
- Direct real-time monitoring operations across transportation, facility, personnel, and security intelligence environments.
- Ensure continuous monitoring of:
- HVHR shipments
- GPS and telematics platforms
- CCTV systems o Access control systems
- Alarm monitoring platforms
- Threat intelligence feeds
- Security incident reporting systems
- Validate alert triage activities conducted by Operators and Analysts.
- Ensure incidents are categorized, investigated, documented, and escalated appropriately.
- Maintain operational continuity throughout the assigned shift.
- Ensure compliance with all GSOC SOPs and operational playbooks.
Incident Management & Escalation
- Serve as the primary escalation authority for security incidents occurring during assigned shifts.
- Review and approve escalation decisions based upon severity, impact, and escalation thresholds.
- Coordinate response activities involving:
- Cargo theft incidents
- HVHR shipment exceptions
- Facility security events
- Workplace violence concerns
- Executive protection issues o Employee safety incidents
- Natural disasters
- Business disruptions
- Crisis activations
- Initiate and coordinate internal notifications and executive escalation procedures.
- Ensure incident documentation is accurate, timely, and audit-ready.
- Coordinate directly with Global Security leadership, Operations, Legal, Human Resources, and Regional Security personnel during significant incidents.
- Support law enforcement engagement and investigative coordination when required.
HVHR & Transportation Security Oversight
- Ensure continuous enforcement of CWW HVHR and transportation security requirements.
- Oversee monitoring of:
- Route deviations
- Prolonged stops
- Sensor alerts
- Tampering indicators
- Seal integrity events
- Cargo theft indicators
- Geofence violations
- Validate response actions and escalation decisions associated with transportation security events.
- Ensure all transportation-related incidents are managed in accordance with approved security policies and escalation matrices.
- Support carrier, customer, and regional operations coordination during transportation[1]related incidents.
Threat Intelligence & Situational Awareness
- Ensure assigned shift maintains continuous global situational awareness.
- Review intelligence alerts, threat reporting, and risk notifications affecting company personnel, facilities, cargo, or operations.
- Coordinate with the Global Security Intelligence Manager and GSOC Manager regarding emerging threats.
- Validate intelligence-driven alerts and escalation recommendations.
- Support development of situational reports (SITREPs), executive notifications, and incident summaries.
- Ensure relevant intelligence is incorporated into incident response and decision-making processes.
Crisis Management & Business Continuity Support
- Support activation of crisis management processes during significant incidents.
- Assist in maintaining common operational picture and situational awareness during crisis events.
- Support executive communications and critical incident conference calls.
- Coordinate information gathering and status updates during major security incidents.
- Facilitate shift participation in crisis exercises, drills, and preparedness activities.
- Ensure readiness to support CWW crisis response and business continuity programs.
Physical Requirements
- Job may require extended sitting or standing, use of standard office equipment.
- Talking, hearing, and using hands to operate computer equipment. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- May require travel to client and site locations to support implementation activities, including on-site presence during go-live periods.
- Job will require presence at the assigned work location.
- Minimum travel of 25-50% will be required.
Other Skills and Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and excellent time management abilities are necessary.
- Demonstrated initiative, ability to exercise good judgment, and ability to achieve results through others is required.
- Must possess extensive knowledge and expertise in investigations, loss prevention tools, and project/program management tools.
- Strategy and planning: must possess an ability to strategically plan over a 12-24 month time span as well as strong client orientation and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Emergency Management, Intelligence Studies, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- Minimum 5 years of security operations, GSOC, command center, transportation security, intelligence, military, law enforcement, emergency management, or related experience.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Experience leading personnel in a 24/7 operational environment.
- Experience managing incident escalation, emergency communications, or crisis response activities.
- Experience in logistics, supply chain, transportation, or global corporate security environments preferred.
- Knowledge of TAPA, CTPAT and other industry related security standards.
