M.C. Dean is seeking an experienced Insurance Risk Specialist to support the administration and management of the company's domestic and international insurance programs. This position will work closely with the Director of Risk Management and serve as a key member of the risk management team, with the opportunity to develop a comprehensive understanding of M.C. Dean's insurance portfolio, claims management processes, and risk transfer strategies.
The ideal candidate will have strong insurance and claims management experience across multiple lines of coverage, experience working with insurance brokers and carriers, and the ability to support underwriting, policy renewals, audits, and risk management initiatives. This role is designed to provide long-term succession planning and professional development within the Risk Management function.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the management of domestic and international insurance programs.
  • Coordinate and support claims management activities across all lines of coverage, including Workers' Compensation, General Liability, Auto Liability, Property, Builder's Risk, Professional Liability, Cyber, and other specialty coverages.
  • Wrap up enrollments, monthly payroll and subcontractor monitoring
  • Work with brokers, carriers, adjusters, legal counsel, and internal stakeholders to facilitate claim resolution and recovery efforts.
  • Support insurance policy renewals, underwriting submissions, and carrier information requests.
  • Assist with the preparation and review of exposure data, loss runs, and underwriting documentation.
  • Participate in annual insurance carrier audits, including payroll, subcontractor, and exposure audits.
  • Review and maintain insurance records, certificates of insurance, and policy documentation.
  • Utilize the Origami Risk Management Information System (RMIS) to track claims, insurance policies, exposures, and reporting metrics.
  • Assist in the preparation of claims and insurance reports for management review.
  • Support risk assessments, contractual risk transfer reviews, and enterprise risk management initiatives.
  • Monitor insurance market developments and provide recommendations regarding coverage and risk transfer strategies.
  • Reviewing and updating insurance requirements and limits for the organization's subcontractor program and reviewing/modifying incoming insurance contract language

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of insurance risk management, claims management, or commercial insurance experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing or supporting claims across multiple lines of coverage.
  • Experience working with commercial insurance brokers, carriers, and third-party administrators.
  • Exposure to both U.S. and international insurance programs is strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of insurance policy structure, coverage analysis, underwriting processes, and premium audits.
  • Experience utilizing the Origami Risk Management Information System (RMIS) or similar risk management platform.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications
  • ARM, CPCU, CRM, AIC, or similar insurance designation.
  • Experience in construction, engineering, government contracting, or infrastructure industries.
  • Experience supporting multinational insurance programs and global claims.
  • Familiarity with contractual risk transfer and insurance requirements in customer and subcontract agreements.
