The Purchasing Manager - Supply Chain (SC) will beresponsible for supply chain initiatives that shape the organization andsupport the company's strategic goals. This person will work effectively withina matrix organization, coordinating with Supply Chain Leadership andcross-functional leads to ensure resource availability and establish transitionplanning procedures to ensure success. The Purchasing Manager will collaborativelyidentify and execute Supply Chain initiatives that support the company andfranchise stores and primary warehouse location that support store operationsfor The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Manage assigned Supply Chain categoriessuch as Dairy, Ready To Eat & Drink products, Fresh Food, Bakery, Impulseand Merchandise. Support the global sourcing team as it relates to Packaging,Smallwares, Office Supplies, Must have inventory management experience withproducts that expire. Requires high attention to detail to ensure productordered will be used within shelf life to restrict write off exposure.
  • Lead Supply Chain (SC) efforts insourcing and team strategies, supplier management, pricing strategies,negotiation and execution of agreements, business plans, pricing and costing ofcost of goods sold for ingredients and services, material program plans, andbidding/managing the end-to-end supply chain
  • Identify risks and opportunities relatedto supply chain and associated contingency plans and mitigation strategies
  • Deliver SC subject matter expertise inresponse to customer-focused marketing solution development and representingthe SC function to the Business
  • Work closely with Marketing to deliverypromotional offerings.
  • Assess and develop Supplier capabilitiesto create opportunities that align with R&D strategies
  • Manage supplier relationships, businessreviews and supplier scorecards.
  • Write SC proposal content formanagement, cost, and past performance volumes for categories that includepackaging, finished goods, supplies and retail merchandise
  • Participate in strategy sessions as theprimary SC functional Advisor
  • Identify, recommend, develop, andimplant tools and enhancements to SC systems and processes to improve SupplyChain efficiency, new product and item event management, and distributorperformance

  • Demonstrate knowledge of productcategories assigned and become a subject matter expert on all.
  • Internal and External PresentationSkills - active listening is critical for this job function as is detailed andthorough communication with Cross Functional Partners and external businesspartners
  • Strong knowledge of Excel, Ross, &Cadence inventory platforms
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management,Business Management, or Finance
  • 5+ years related experience preferablyin multiple aspects of Supply Chain or Program Management, or some portion inthe food service industry
  • Experience with multi-unit, multi-state,multi-functional organization
  • Food & Beverage and/or Retailexperience is highly preferred
  • Ability to manage the delicate balance of prioritizing day-to-day shiftsin business as well as responding with urgency in emergencies

This position will be based in Camarillo, CA, with theneed to travel to our Downtown Los Angeles office occasionally. In addition, Monday-Thursdayare in-office days and Friday is a remote work day.
