Job description

Global People Operations Manager

Location: Cambridge, MA / Hybrid
(This role requires working in-office 3 days per week: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.)

About us:

EverQuote is a leading AI-powered growth solutions partner for regulated property and casualty insurance entities, enabling the largest insurance carriers and thousands of agents to maximize customer acquisition across digital channels. Fueled by our proprietary data assets and our AI traffic engine, EverQuote is transforming the way providers attract and engage consumers to grow market share.

Joining our team puts you at the forefront of this transformation. You will collaborate with a group of builders to solve complex problems and reshape a massive industry. If you want to drive real-world impact and do the best work of your career, you've found your home. We move fast, follow the data, and hold ourselves to high standards. If that's how you work too, this is the role for you.

About the role:

As we scale, building a best-in-class People function is a competitive advantage—and this role sits right at the center of that effort.

We are not looking for someone to just maintain the status quo or stay purely transactional. We're looking for an innovator who brings deep operational expertise and a relentless instinct for making things better. Reporting directly to the Head of People, you'll own the full global People Operations function across our locations in the US and Northern Ireland.

Your mandate is simple: master the operational details so you can aggressively improve them. At EverQuote, that means constantly asking how a process could be faster, smarter, or more scalable. By leaning into AI tools and modernizing our workflows, your goal is to automate the routine so you can unlock your bandwidth for high-level, strategic initiatives.

You'll step into a high-visibility role with massive scope and ownership from day one. While you will start as a powerhouse individual contributor, as you scale our operations and drive impact, there could be a path to build and lead a small People Ops team.

The Ideal Profile: You have broad HR generalist experience and know how to run people programs with care and consistency, but you also have a track record of challenging how things are done. You take pride in being the trusted partner employees can count on, the one who gives a straight answer and makes working here feel seamless. Whether you're redesigning a broken process, getting more out of an HRIS, or managing external vendors, you are driven by a desire to elevate the employee experience and drive business impact.

What you'll do:

  • Shape the Employee Experience: Own the critical first impression EverQuote makes on every new hire. Build an onboarding experience that reflects our culture, clearly communicates expectations, and helps people find their footing fast.
  • Optimize Global Operations: Own and continuously improve the full employee lifecycle—from onboarding and offboarding to employment changes, leaves, and compliance. Find the smartest, most efficient ways to manage recordkeeping.
  • Drive Total Rewards: Oversee the day-to-day processing of our compensation and benefits programs (including open enrollment). Run annual compensation and benchmarking cycles, delivering data-backed recommendations that keep us equitable and highly competitive.
  • Act as a Trusted Partner: Be the highly visible, go-to resource for managers and employees on policies, processes, and general people questions.
  • Scale Our Systems: Partner with our HRIS Manager to ensure our tech stack isn't just working, but is built for scale and maximum efficiency.
  • Leverage External Expertise: Build and maximize strong working relationships with our external partners—benefits brokers, immigration attorneys, and compensation consultants—acting as a force multiplier for our internal team.

What you bring to the team:

  • 7+ years of progressive People Operations experience: Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience including at least 3 years in a role owning people ops and total rewards administration at a global or multi-location company. Experience navigating US and international (specifically UK/Northern Ireland) employment considerations is a major plus.
  • A "roll-up-your-sleeves" mentality paired with a strategic mindset: You are a proactive problem solver who is comfortable operating deep in the details today, with the vision to automate those processes to win back bandwidth for tomorrow.
  • Readiness to build and lead: While you will start as a high-impact individual contributor, you have the capability—and perhaps prior experience mentoring or guiding others—to eventually build and manage a small, high-output People Ops team as we scale. You know how to set clear expectations and build a culture of ownership.
  • A track record of automation and efficiency: You don't just know about HR tech conceptually; you have actually built, deployed, or optimized tools (like an HRIS) to make operations work better, yielding measurable time savings or process improvements.
  • Strong analytical chops: You are highly comfortable analyzing data, building frameworks, and presenting clear, data-backed recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Direct, clear communication: You have a knack for translating complex systems, benefits programs, and people decisions into plain language for employees, managers, and leadership alike.
  • A collaborative, execution-focused approach: At EverQuote, we are one team with high expectations of each other. You take pride in following through, acting with urgency, and partnering seamlessly across the business.
