JOB TITLE: Sanitation Associate (1st Shift)
FUNCTION: Sanitation
REPORTS TO: Sanitation Supervisor
LOCATION:Hilbert, Wisconsin
POSITION TYPE: Full Time
SCHEDULE: M-TH 1:00pm -11:00pm
HOURLY RATE: $20.50 + 10% shift differential = 22.55
Ornua (meaning "new gold") is Ireland's largest exporter of Irish dairy products, proudly bringing the unique taste of Irish dairy to the world since 1961.
Ornua is actively seeking a Sanitation Associate to join the Ornua Family as we continue our growth trajectory. As a Sanitation Associate, you'll play a key role in helping Ornua deliver safe and high-quality products that are enjoyed by consumers around the world by performing all tasks involved with cleaning the production and packaging area between 1st and 3rd shift. This position follows all good manufacturing practices and practices safe work habits to ensure the area is cleaned to specifications.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Clean equipment and work areas, to include the laboratory, production and all other areas assigned using chemical cleaning solutions, hand tools and pressurized sanitation equipment.
  • Inspect sanitation work and follow up as appropriate to ensure that all operating and sanitation standards have been met to ensure a safe and effective start on time of production and processing equipment.
  • Perform duties following all good manufacturing practices (GMP's) including food, equipment, and operating safety requirements/Lockout-Tagout
  • Complete all necessary cleaning and workplace sanitation requirements.
  • Flexible to support work in all areas as needed.
  • Record production information on a tablet, computer or by hand.
  • Effectively communicate with Management regarding Equipment issues, Food Safety issues, Quality issues, Safety issues and sanitation processes and procedures that need review.
  • Assist in inventory of chemicals, cleaning supplies and parts required.
  • Perform additional job duties as required by leadership efficiently and safely.
  • Consistent attendance and performance
  • Adhere to all Company and Departmental procedures.
  • Adhere to and strive to exceed the expectations of stringent Safety, Food Safety, Quality, and good manufacturing practices (GMP's), policies, and procedures at all times.
  • Ability to calculate and understand basic math and simple formulas including but not limited to addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and averages.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, cultivating a culture of trust, accountability, collaboration, and teamwork.
  • Ability to demonstrate a high sense of urgency and be proactive in addressing problems as they arise.

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and perform repetitive motions
  • Ability to stand/walk for 10 consecutive hours
  • Willingness to work in a food manufacturing environment with variable temperatures
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Ability to use hands to grasp, grip and manipulate boxes or product
  • Basic math skills

Desired Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Solid work history
  • Prior food manufacturing experience
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety standards.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This role requires regular standing, walking, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 60 pounds. Employees must be able to perform repetitive motions and safely operate equipment while following all safety and quality procedures.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in a food manufacturing facility with variable temperatures - cooler warehouse areas and warmer production zones. The environment includes exposure to moving equipment, moderate to loud noise levels, and required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hats and hairnets.
