Job Description
Role: Global Network Engineer
Job Summary: Reporting to the Senior Manager, Global Network and Communications, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading the design, testing, and initial deployment of network, security, voice, and cloud networking infrastructure across global IKO locations.
This role focuses on Level 3 support, developing proofs of concept (POCs), implementing new technologies, and creating comprehensive documentation to support the Network Operations team. The successful candidate will apply advanced technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and communication abilities to ensure solutions align with IKO's business requirements and global IT standards.
This opportunity is based fully onsite at our Mississauga, ON office location.
Compensation: $96,000 - $129,000

Job Responsibilities
  • Design and implement network, security, voice, and cloud networking infrastructure, including Azure Virtual Networks, ExpressRoute, and VPN gateways, to meet business requirements and align with defined Global IT standards.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot network, security, voice, Aruba Wireless, and Aruba Central issues using standard tools and processes.
  • Communicate with vendors for service changes, hardware/software orders, and coordination of related activities.
  • Maintain published documentation for technical procedures, policies, and standard processes related to network, cloud networking, Aruba Wireless, and Aruba Central infrastructure.
  • Implement and monitor security solutions, standards, and policies in accordance with IKO's Information Security Framework.
  • Assist in investigations of possible security breaches as part of the incident management team.
  • Represent the network, security, voice, cloud networking, Aruba Wireless, and Aruba Central groups during audits.
  • Support the development of Business Continuity Plans (BCP) for network and cloud networking infrastructure.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Senior Manager, Global Network and Communications.

Qualifications
  • 7-10 years' experience designing and managing large enterprise networks, datacenter systems, and systems architecture.
  • 3-5 years' experience with Azure Cloud in a hybrid environment, including designing cloud networking solutions.
  • Expert knowledge of switching and routing, particularly BGP and OSPF.
  • Hands-on experience with Palo Alto Firewalls.
  • Experience assessing datacenter and cloud networking trends to develop and implement hardware and software standards.
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to lead technical discussions, participate in departmental meetings, and influence outcomes.
  • Ability to uphold best-practice standards and drive innovation in network and cloud networking solutions.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of French, or the ability to develop French language skills, is considered an asset.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Ability to travel approximately 10% within North America and Europe.
  • Valid G driver's license.
