Job Overview: The Director, IT Infrastructure is a senior IT leadership role responsible for planning, delivering, and maintaining FXI's enterprise-wide technology infrastructure and support services. This role ensures that the company's IT platforms, networks, and support functions effectively enable business operations with high performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency. The Director will oversee hybrid cloud and on-premises infrastructure (including Microsoft platforms like Azure and M365, SAP S/4HANA on RISE, and WAN connectivity) while managing a distributed team across the U.S. and Mexico. The position will also serve as FXI's primary point of contact for the company's outsourced Managed Service Provider, who delivers data center hosting, network management, backup/disaster recovery, and end-user help desk support. As a key member of the IT leadership team, the Director will work closely with the CIO along with IT and business leaders to align IT engineering and operations with organizational strategy and to drive continuous improvement in service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic IT Leadership: Collaborate with the CIO and IT leaders to execute the IT engineering and infrastructure roadmap aligned with FXI's business strategy and enterprise architecture.
  • Infrastructure & Cloud Management: Lead FXI's hybrid infrastructure and cloud environments (Azure, Microsoft 365, SAP S/4HANA) to meet business performance and availability requirements, including design, implementation, and support.
  • Service Delivery & Operations: Ensure 24/7 availability and performance of IT systems through strong operational and resilience processes.
  • Managed Services Oversight: Lead managed service provider relationships, ensuring reliable service delivery, SLA compliance, and ongoing performance optimization. Areas include: data center hosting, network management, backups & disaster recovery, and end-user service desk support.
  • Network & Telecom Coordination: Oversee the wide area network (WAN) and telecommunications infrastructure in partnership service providers. Ensure robust and reliable connectivity across all locations.
  • Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Advance infrastructure efficiency, agility, and cost effectiveness through continuous improvement and adaptation of modern technologies.
  • Standards, Governance, and Compliance: Establish and enforce enterprise technology standards, governance processes, and metrics to ensure value delivery, security, and compliance.
  • Project & Portfolio Management: Oversee planning and execution of projects. Ensure projects are scoped and delivered according to expectations.
  • Financial Management: Develop and manage operating and capital budgets for IT infrastructure.
  • Vendor & Contract Management: Manage strategic vendor partnerships and contracts to deliver reliable, high-value infrastructure services. Ensuring FXI obtains optimal value, performance, and reliability from its partners.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Recruit, develop, and retain top talent. Lead and mentor a distributed infrastructure team, driving accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Customer Service & Support: Drive high user satisfaction through effective service desk performance and support optimization by implementing and adhering to best practices (e.g., ITIL processes).

Skills / Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field is required.
  • Strategic & Analytical Thinking: Able to evaluate complex technology ecosystems and deliver innovative improvements to IT services.
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in enterprise infrastructure, data center operations, networking, security, and application architecture in manufacturing or distribution environments.
  • Leadership: Proven relationship builder across all levels, fostering a collaborative, customer-focused culture.
  • Technical Acumen: Broad expertise in enterprise infrastructure including cloud (Microsoft, Azure, Entra ID, M365), networking, servers, virtualization, endpoints, and enterprise platforms; experience with SAP S/4HANA in manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Financial & Business Acumen: Strong business and financial judgment, including budgeting, cost management, and investment trade-off decisions.
  • Results Driven: Ability to deliver high-quality results, under pressure, through proactive problem solving and a service-oriented mindset.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel up to 20%.
