The Prototype Production Associate will play an integral role in the day-to-day operations of MCC's Rapid Prototyping Centers. They will perform all aspects of the production of prototype labels, beginning with approved design or print-ready files through all stages of printing, assembly, packing and shipping of finished product.

Responsibilities:
Prepress
  • Adapt design files to be useable within prototype equipment workflows as needed.
  • Utilize prepress software such as Illustrator and Photoshop to dissect art files and modify them to produce prototypes that meet design intent.
  • Work to understand printer output characteristics and optimize files to meet design intent.

Production
  • Receives and preps bottles/containers for label application.
  • Produces prototype labels.
  • Could involve multiple processes, re-registration, foil application, etc.
  • Performs QC for color and technical aspects of the labels.
  • Prepares labels for application (machine or hand-cutting labels and seaming shrink sleeves).
  • Applies prototype labels to containers.
  • Photographs finished labels or decorated containers.
  • Packs and ships prototypes to various locations.
  • Performs daily and weekly maintenance on the printer.

Qualifications:
  • Possesses strong creative problem-solving skills, attention to detail.
  • Expertise with Adobe Illustrator and some Adobe Photoshop skills.
  • Ability to learn the file preparation needs for the printers, cutters, and other equipment, including software for optimization of production.
  • Experience with 3D rendering, 3D printing and Autodesk Fusion 360/CAD software a plus.
  • Experience with MS Teams, MS Office, basic photography and videography.
  • Good communication skills and a relentless spirit of customer service.
