THE ROLE
The Parking Garage Maintenance Technician plays a key role in keeping the facility safe, clean, and fully operational. This position is responsible for routine maintenance, minor repairs, and daily upkeep of the garage's physical structure, equipment, and grounds. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Facility Upkeep
  • Perform daily cleaning of parking areas, stairwells, elevators, and common spaces
  • Remove trash, debris, and spills to maintain a safe environment
  • Pressure-wash surfaces as needed

Maintenance & Repairs
  • Conduct routine inspections of lighting, signage, gates, ticket machines, and ventilation systems
  • Replace light bulbs, repair minor electrical issues, and report major repairs to management
  • Perform basic plumbing tasks such as clearing drains or addressing minor leaks
  • Maintain and repair parking equipment (barrier arms, pay stations, ticket dispensers)

Safety & Compliance
  • Monitor the facility for hazards, structural issues, or safety concerns
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and report incidents promptly
  • Apply ice melt, shovel snow, and maintain safe walkways during winter months

Operational Support
  • Assist customers with parking equipment issues or general inquiries
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors when needed
  • Document maintenance activities and submit reports to supervisors

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience
  • Experience in facility maintenance, building operations, or parking services preferred
  • Familiarity with parking access and revenue control systems (PARCS) preferred
  • Valid driver's license

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
