YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY:

The Senior HSE Manager is a Senior level position responsible for leading multiple teams and leaders of leaders. This position oversees the implantation of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices across multiple project sites with an emphasis on leadership and team development. Other responsibilities include hazard identification, incident investigation, safety training, and ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards. The position also involves mentoring junior team members, developing future leaders, and collaborating with field leadership, subcontractors, and customers to maintain a safe and productive work environment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Monitors progress and performance of multiple teams and safety programs, taking corrective action as necessary.

  • Plans and assigns work for team members.

  • Identifies, teaches, and develops future leaders and wider safety members.

  • Coach and manage HSE professionals to build capability, strengthen talent pipelines, and address performance issues.

  • Align corporate safety strategy with field execution across construction and operational sites.

  • Assess training needs and develop targeted programs for teams and project sites.

  • Facilitate communication between corporate EHS leadership, field teams, and frontline stakeholders to ensure consistent program implementation.

  • Promote accountability across business and field leadership.

  • Serve as a liaison with cross-functional teams to integrate safety into all phases of the data center lifecycle.

  • Contribute to cross-company initiatives related to safety, including resiliency, business continuity, ESG, and workforce engagement.

  • Provide proactive, strategic safety insights to senior leadership on emerging risks and incident trends.

  • Participate in pre-construction meetings and develop site-specific safety plans.

  • Maintain a high level of expertise in company HSE standards, programs, and goals.

  • Champion HSE standards across projects to foster a safe and productive environment.

  • Partner with EHS training teams as a subject matter expert to ensure technical and regulatory competency.

  • Support additional EHS initiatives as assigned.

  • Manage multiple priorities while delivering high-quality support to internal stakeholders.

  • Serve as a strategic contributor to the Health & Safety Program team, driving innovation and direction.

  • Collaborate with global HSE and governance teams to develop proactive risk-reduction strategies.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.); Oracle preferred

  • Excellent ability to coach, develop, manage, team members.

  • Ability to manage and de-escalate difficult conversations and situations.

  • Ability to build organizational talent pipeline and development of future leaders.

  • Professional interpersonal and customer service skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Expert understanding of the organization's hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation and performance management philosophy, and supporting administrative practices.

WHAT YOU BRING TO US:
  • 4-year related degree and 8 years related experience plus ASP certification or 11 years relevant experience and SMS.

  • Ability to spend 80% of working time on active construction sites.

TRAVEL:
  • Up to 25 % as needed

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • General work environment - sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning.

  • Noise level is usually low to medium; it can be loud on the jobsite.

  • We fully comply with the ADA and applicable state law, including considering reasonable accommodation measures that may enable qualified disabled applicants and employees to perform essential functions.

  • Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
