The role...

At Soho House, a Glass Polisher thrives in fast-paced and high-volume environments that require efficient and careful cleaning, polishing and storage of glassware used at Soho House. The Glass Polisher collaborates with the kitchen and bar team to support Front of House (FOH) operations.  Partnering with the Porter and Dishwasher team a Glass Polisher is meticulous and has a keen eye for detail to ensure crystal clear appearance of all glassware.

A successful Glass Polisher plays a crucial role in maintaining a sanitary and clean experience for members and guests that enforces increased customer satisfaction, reduce the number of spotty glasses, and add an attractive, polished appeal to the glassware selection.

 Main Duties

  • Responsible for partnering with Porters and dishwashers following glassware being washed and sanitized to inspect imperfections, dry water spots, stocking and support Front of House (FOH) team with glassware for service
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines by following Soho House Company policies, procedures, and standards and local, state, and federal law as applicable Dispose of any broken/chipped/defective glassware to maintain the safety of our guests
  • Clean and polish stemware, flatware and all bar glassware
  • Partner with barbacks and housekeeping team to restock glassware for all bars and minibars (when applicable)
  • Communicate effectively with all team members to ensure members and guests experience and service is upheld to the highest standards
  • Support bartenders in wiping down bottles, cleaning and maintaining bar
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager

Required Skills/Qualifications

  • Minimum 1+ year of experience
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Detail oriented and thrive in fast-paced environment
  • Ability to multitask and work and works well under pressure
  • Keen eye for detail and "perfection" even if it requires repetitive task
  • Basic verbal communication skills

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands.
  • Must be able to work on your feet for at least 8 hours.
  • Fast paced movements are required to go from one part of the club to others.
  • Must be able to move, pull, carry or lift at least 40 pounds.
  • Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb as required.
