Body Shop Glass Technician

Louisville, KY

What Glass America requires of you to be successful:
  • Safely remove intact automotive glass to facilitate the collision repair process and reinstall glass based on schedule request of Gerber Collision.

  • Preserve the condition of automotive glass through all stages of the removal and installation process, putting safeguards in place to avoid damaging the headliner, pinch weld and/or paint.

  • Responsible for servicing and supporting a network of Gerber Collision body shops within a defined market, traveling to each location as determined by business needs.

  • Must maintain communication with Glass America and Gerber Collision managers at all times to meet delivery deadlines.

  • Utilizes the proper tools and techniques to ensure efficient, timely, and quality removal and installation of glass service for Gerber Collision customers.

  • Verify that the required paperwork is completed and turned in to the appropriate person or location.

  • Maintains a safe and acceptable driving record in accordance with company policy.

  • Drive company vehicle to Gerber Collision body shop to perform work as determined by daily schedule.

  • Load glass in the truck as needed.

  • Immediately report any issues that may delay the original completion deadline to the Glass America and/or Gerber Collision manager.

  • Maintain high levels of quality control.

  • Ensure that all needed equipment is operating properly.

  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook.

  • Maintain a good rapport with all supervisors and co-workers and customers.

What Glass America needs of you to join the team:
  • Knowledge of safely removing and installing auto glass on vehicles that are undergoing collision repair.

  • Ability to save glass for the purpose of reinstalling after inspection.
    Understanding the flow of work within a body shop.

  • Strong work ethic and attendance.

  • Valid Driver’s License

  • Must be able to complete background check/MVR and drug screening process.
