Job description

The Geotech (Core Cutter) is responsible for work on a long -term, sampling project. The perfect candidate will have a year or two of experience cutting core and working in a core shack.
The work will be supervised by the Core Facility Supervisor and the work schedule is expected to be 5 days a week .
The Geotech's responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Assist with drill core staging, sampling, and tracking tasks;
  • Carefully clean drill core according to prescribed procedures and directions;
  • Move, sort, store and core boxes;
  • Bag, label, and track core samples;
  • Perform basic tasks in computer programs such as Microsoft Excel or other database , as needed ;
  • Inventory supplies;
  • Purchase supplies/equipment and perform other routine errands locally and/or regionally;
  • Use diamond saw to safely, efficiently, and neatly cut core lengthwise (desired duty for ideal candidate, depending on prior experience) ;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:
  • Lift up to 75 lb. core boxes repeatedly;
  • Good attitude and ability to work well as part of a team;
  • Ability to work safely and in compliance with the Project Health and Safety Plan;
โ€ข General maintenance skills (desired);
  • Core cutting experience (desired).

Payrate is $25 to $30 per hour DOE
