The GIS Analyst will be a part of the MS4 Compliance Group that is responsible for the Citys compliance with stormwater requirements under the Clean Water Act, floodplain management requirements per the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and other miscellaneous requirements for federal funded projects. The personnel will work under the Environmental Manager to develop, apply, analyze, manage and report GIS data to support a variety of stormwater-related and flood-risk mitigation-related projects and programs. This position will serve as a key function to connect and coordinate, on behalf of the MS4 Compliance Group, with the data-production-orientated GIS Group to ensure GIS data and tools are utilized effectively, efficiently and optimally to address specific needs of a variety of projects and programs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assesses GIS needs and scope per individual projects or programs.
• Collects, reviews, assesses, improves and synthesizes GIS data of various sources.
• Provides a variety of GIS applications and in-depth analyses.
• Delivers data packages, mapping products and analytics.
• Complies with and develop data standards, policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
  

REQUIRES:

• An accredited Masters degree in public or business administration, urban or regional planning, economics, organizational psychology/development, project management, or geography
• OR an accredited Bachelor's degree and 1 year of professional experience in public or business administration, corporate/municipal finance, research, accounting, planning, project/program management or geographical information system analytics.
• Preference for applicants with experience in hydrological modeling, and/or drone application.
