Contract: U.S. Air Force – Air Mobility Command

Work Location: U.S. Scott Airforce Base (Belleview, IL)

Reporting Hours: Central Standard Time

Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance (e.g., Secret or Top Secret) may be required.

Geocgi is looking for a GIS Solutions Engineer to support the Air Force Intelligence Community at Scott Air Force Base. This role focuses on designing, developing, and implementing enterprise geospatial applications, web-based mapping solutions, and innovative GIS workflows that support mission-critical operations. Working within an Agile development environment, the successful candidate will collaborate with geospatial professionals, developers, and stakeholders to build scalable solutions leveraging the Esri technology stack. The ideal candidate combines strong GIS knowledge with modern web development skills and a passion for developing geospatial applications that solve complex operational challenges.

This role will be performed onsite at U.S Scott Airforce Base Monday through Friday. 901 South Drive, Scott AFB, IL 62225

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather, analyze, and document application requirements, workflows, and data flows supporting mission requirements.
  • Design, develop, and maintain geospatial web applications utilizing Esri technologies and modern web development frameworks.
  • Configure and customize ArcGIS solutions using out-of-the-box Esri technologies, including Experience Builder and ArcGIS Enterprise.
  • Design and develop custom ArcGIS web applications, widgets, and user interfaces
  • Create, publish, and manage map services and web-based geospatial content within. ArcGIS Enterprise environments.
  • Support the installation, configuration, administration, and optimization of ArcGIS software and services.
  • Collaborate with project teams, analysts, and stakeholders to develop innovative geospatial solutions.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, system designs, workflows, and application specifications.
  • Participate in Agile development activities, testing, troubleshooting, and application deployments.
  • Support software lifecycle processes and DevSecOps practices to ensure secure, reliable, and maintainable applications.

The following are requirements of the GIS Solutions Engineer:

  • S. Citizen and Active U.S. Passport.
  • Abilit to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Geography, GIS, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience developing web applications and configuring or customizing user interfaces, tools, and workflows.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience developing geospatial mapping or analysis applications utilizing Esri technologies.
  • Experience with web development technologies including HTML, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, .NET, and related frameworks.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python.
  • Experience creating and managing ArcGIS Server services and REST-based OGC-compliant web services.
  • Experience installing, configuring, and administering Esri software and enterprise GIS environments.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise geodatabases and relational database platforms such as PostgreSQL and Oracle.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively within project teams.

The following are preferred of the GIS Solutions Engineer:

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification.
  • Experience with cloud platforms and technologies such as AWS and Docker.
  • Familiarity with software development standards, coding best practices, and DevSecOps methodologies.
  • Experience developing application documentation, system designs, and technical specifications.
  • Experience supporting enterprise GIS environments within Department of Defense or Intelligence Community organizations.

The annual base salary range for this position is anticipated to be $75,000 $85,000 USD. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position.
