Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Network Planning Technical Project Manager based in Netherlands.

As a Network Planning Technical Project Manager, you will play a critical role in designing and delivering the connectivity infrastructure that supports next-generation cloud and AI platforms. You will manage complex network deployment programs, acting as the key link between internal infrastructure teams, engineering groups, and external telecommunications partners. From site evaluation and fiber architecture to commercial negotiations and deployment execution, you will oversee the full connectivity lifecycle. This role offers the opportunity to influence large-scale infrastructure projects, solve complex technical challenges, and contribute to the expansion of globally distributed, high-performance data center environments within an innovative and collaborative team.

Accountabilities
  • Lead end-to-end connectivity infrastructure projects, from initial site opportunity assessment through final outside plant (OSP) delivery and operational readiness.
  • Collaborate closely with network technical program managers, data center teams, engineering groups, procurement specialists, and construction teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Evaluate connectivity feasibility for new data center locations, including validation of long-haul wave solutions, dark fiber options, and network design strategies.
  • Act as the technical owner for fiber pathway architecture, including route diversity, manhole placement, conduit systems, and site entry point design.
  • Coordinate the design and implementation of Point of Entry (POE) and Meet-Me Room (MMR) infrastructure to support high-capacity, multi-carrier fiber deployments.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with telecommunications providers, fiber owners, utilities, and infrastructure partners.
  • Support procurement activities, including RFx processes, contract negotiations, fiber lease agreements, IRUs, and long-term connectivity solutions.
  • Manage commercial and technical discussions with external partners to ensure delivery timelines and infrastructure requirements are met.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of connectivity assets, fiber routes, and infrastructure plans using geospatial data and technical documentation tools.
  • Review, modify, and create infrastructure design plans using AutoCAD to support physical network deployments.
  • Contribute to capacity planning, network expansion strategies, and continuous improvement of connectivity processes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in network infrastructure, outside plant (OSP) planning, telecommunications, or data center connectivity project management.
  • Strong understanding of fiber optic networks, DWDM technology, inline amplification requirements, and managed optical fiber deployments.
  • Experience managing complex infrastructure projects involving multiple internal teams, vendors, and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to negotiate and manage commercial agreements related to fiber leases, IRUs, construction contracts, or connectivity services.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD for reviewing and creating site infrastructure and conduit design documentation.
  • Advanced experience working with GIS tools and geospatial data formats such as KMZ/KML files.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence partners and drive execution against ambitious timelines.
  • Deep knowledge of regional fiber infrastructure landscapes, utility right-of-way considerations, and connectivity challenges is highly desirable.
  • Experience with large-scale capacity planning and deployments, including 100Tbps+ environments, is a strong advantage.
  • Familiarity with Python or Go scripting for infrastructure-related tasks is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of service provider networking or data center IP networking is considered a plus.
Benefits
  • Competitive compensation package.
  • Flexible remote working options within Europe, with access to international office environments.
  • High level of ownership and autonomy in managing impactful infrastructure initiatives.
  • Career growth and continuous learning opportunities in advanced cloud and AI infrastructure.
  • Opportunity to contribute to large-scale technology projects with global impact.
  • Collaborative and innovative culture with talented international teams.
  • Fast-moving environment focused on meaningful challenges, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.
