MICHAEL BAKER INTERNATIONAL IN ALASKA

Michael Baker International's first office in Alaska opened in 1942. Since then, we have played a key role in some of Alaska's most renowned infrastructure projects, including groundbreaking projects on the North Slope and the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System. We continue to focus on cold regions engineering-pipelines, transportation, civil, architecture, hydrology, and geotechnical, and specialty professional services, permitting and regulatory compliance, and GIS and LiDAR mapping. We have offices in Anchorage and Fairbanks and constantly network with our lower-48 colleagues, providing workshare opportunities across the company and leveraging our extensive skills sets to grow in Alaska.

DESCRIPTION

Michael Baker International is expanding its footprint in Alaska and is seeking a Senior Project Manager to help grow our transportation design practice. You'll play a key role in developing civil design projects while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team that includes experts in roadway, bridge, rail, aviation, environmental, planning, and public involvement. Our transportation team also works closely with pipeline, facility, and water resources engineers, offering a rich and diverse project environment.

While this role is centered on Alaska-based clients and projects, you'll also have opportunities to contribute to impactful work across our offices nationwide. If you're ready to lead, innovate, and make a lasting impact, we'd love to connect with you!

Serve as a technical resource in their transportation field of expertise for our Alaska offices and other offices nationally. Ensure quality control processes are followed for assigned projects.
  • Leadership: Lead multi-discipline project delivery teams in meeting established schedules and quality standards for deliverables. Provide training and mentorship to less experienced staff.
  • Business Development: In a team environment, assist with identifying new opportunities, proposal production, building and maintaining client relationships and the overall growth of our Alaska business.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering or similar
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in Alaska

  • Design/Build or other alternative project delivery experience a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to lead and work in diverse teams
  • Possess established client relationships, a willingness to build relationships with new clientele, and a willingness to lead proposal efforts
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat and Blue Beam. Familiarity with AutoCAD/Civil 3D and GIS web and desktop applications a plus.
