Job description

Flowerama is looking for looking for hardworking, upbeat, dependable part-time individuals for day, evening, and weekend shifts. Our Florist and Gift store is seeking qualified applicants who have strong customer service and / or retail experience.

Requirements

  • Previous retail sales experience.
  • Excellent customer service experience.
  • Strong telephone skills and ability to establish rapport with customers.
  • Familiarity with florist business helpful but not mandatory.
  • Floral Design experience.
  • Ability to work as part of a team while completing tasks in a timely manner
  • Typing Ability (30 WPM)
  • Point of Sales experience is a plus
  • Strong communications and strong interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication ability
  • Ability to lift 40lbs unassisted
  • Ability to stand up to 8 hours daily, and up to 10 hours seasonally
  • Commitment to work a flexible schedule in a fast-paced creative environment. We are open Monday - Friday 7:30am-7pm, Saturday 8am-7pm, and Sunday 10am-4pm. The management team gets Sundays off during non-seasonal times. Please note that during busy holiday times, hour of operation will be extended to meet the needs of our customers. Employees are also expected to work extended hours during Valentine's Day and Mother's Day weeks, including Valentine's Day and Mother's Day.

Essential Job Functions

  • Be able to perform and train the essential job functions of retail sales associates, and be knowledgeable enough to oversee the floral designer so store maintains profitability.
  • Interview, hire, manage and terminate employees
  • Complete and / or audit daily bookwork
  • Report concerns and / or daily operations to store manager/district manager
  • Manage flower dumpage and analysis for profitability
  • Order and manage fresh and non-perishable inventory
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices, appropriate care information, professional signage, and correct pricing as it fluctuates with cost of goods
  • Manage customer service and complaints effectively
  • Monitor delivery
  • Monitor shrinkage
  • Complete any other tasks as required by management
  • Work additional hours during holidays and/or as required based on business necessity
  • Other duties as assigned by the manager
