Come Join Our Team as a Donation Processing Specialist!

The Donation Processing Specialist plays a critical role in supporting donor stewardship by ensuring all financial contributions are processed accurately, efficiently, and in strict alignment with donor intent. You will be responsible for the timely recording, reconciliation, and acknowledgment of gifts, directly supporting our financial reporting and overall data integrity. This role is perfect for a highly organized, analytical professional who takes immense pride in accuracy and consistency, enjoys solving data puzzles, and loves providing excellent service to our donors and internal teams. This position will work in office at our headquarters in Scottsdale, AZ. 

What You'll Do:
  • Gift Processing & Reconciliation: Process and reconcile all incoming donations (checks, credit cards, and online contributions); monitor multiple donation platforms to download daily contribution activity.

  • Data & CRM Management: Accurately enter donation and non-donation receipts into Raiser’s Edge and our accounting system, keeping donor records meticulously up to date.

  • Donor & Team Collaboration: Communicate with donors and payment processors to handle inquiries, resolve transaction discrepancies, and provide the Development team with regular updates on donor trends and history.

  • Reporting & Compliance: Prepare official donor tax receipts in compliance with regulations, manage reporting calendars, make necessary record adjustments (corrections, reclassifications, refunds), and ensure all activities adhere to internal policies.

  • Data Analysis: Leverage Excel to analyze, organize, and reconcile financial data to safeguard our financial integrity.

 What You Bring to the Team:
  • Education: Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required (or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience).

  • Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in a financial data entry, accounts receivable, or donation processing role.

  • Tech-Savvy Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills for data analysis. Experience with Raiser’s Edge or similar donor management systems/CRMs is highly preferred, along with the ability to quickly adapt to new accounting software.

  • Meticulous Eye for Detail: A proven track record of managing high-volume data with a high level of accuracy and maintaining strict confidentiality.

  • Strong Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build warm, professional relationships with staff, volunteers, and donors from diverse backgrounds.

  • Time Management: Solid problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently, take initiative, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
