Job description

Gift Processing Specialist
The Gift Processing Specialist is responsible for the upload, review, and reconciliation of individual and corporate donor demographic information imported into the donor database, the timely and accurate processing of gifts and pledges in the fundraising system and providing customer service support to fulfill the team's goal of ensuring all gifts, pledges and pledge payments are processed accurately and efficiently.
What you'll do
  • Reviews, creates, and updates individual and corporate demographic information from gift source documents
  • Processes and records gifts daily, including online gifts, electronic funds transfers, third-party platforms, Gifts-In-Kind, and donor-advised funds in donor database software while meeting all department deadlines
  • Uploads or scans supporting documentation on the donor or gift/pledge levels into Salesforce
  • Provides reliable, accurate, and timely responses to questions from internal and external customers
  • Researches and verifies information to ensure accuracy and reliability of the data in line with department policies and procedures
  • Protects confidential donor and organization information in a variety of formats including network files, digital images, and physical files
  • Completes data integrity/clean up tasks as assigned
  • Participates in testing of enhancements to Salesforce and Affinaquest
  • Develops and maintains internal department knowledge articles for processing gifts in Salesforce
  • Provides cross-training, as needed, and coverage in the event of extended absence from positions and during busy time periods
  • Facilitates open lines of communication between the Gift Administration and Finance Cash Office teams, to ensure staff is kept up to date on relevant information that enables the application of consistent record keeping standards across departments
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness in completing assigned duties
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and responsibility regarding information related to Enterprise Partners, its subsidiaries and University business and confidential prospect information
  • Strong and collegial interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively in person, in writing, and by phone or web meeting
  • Strong mathematical and computational skills and the ability to audit or proofs one's own work to ensure accurate calculations
  • Demonstrated ability and desire to learn, apply and retain complex and detailed processes and procedures
  • Ability to use various web search engines to research and find data on corporations and their subsidiaries
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook

Relevant qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Bookkeeping experience with the desire to meet expectations of efficiencies, timeliness and accuracy
  • Experience with Salesforce, SharePoint and Workday

Preferred skills and abilities
  • Familiarity with and understanding of the purpose of fundraising in higher education or a nonprofit setting
  • Possess strong investigative and analytical skills
