Job description

As a Gift Shop Attendant, you will have the great opportunity to be a positive part of our team! ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Follow standards of neatness and cleanliness for the shop in order to maintain customer appeal.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests; anticipate and address guests needs
  • Know features and benefits of merchandise in the shop
  • Follow policies and procedures that affect inventory controls.
  • Maintain product knowledge of resort activities, facilities, and amenities to ensure personalized guest service.
  • Responsible for building rapport with guest, collecting monies and responsibility of the cash drawer.

REQUIRED SKILL SET

• Must be able to speak, read, write English

• Process cash, credit/debit and gift cards transactions via the Point of Sale (POS) system

• Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Must possess basic computational ability, including addition and subtraction and must accurately count currency and make change

• Must possess basic computer skills and general knowledge of business software such as Word, Excel

• Must have Weekend and Holiday availability

• Knowledge of retail operations, including the ability to open and close the gift shop.

• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning and stocking tasks. Must be able to lift a maximum of 30 pounds of inventory using proper lifting techniques, including squatting/bending at the knees, keeping a straight back and lifting with leg muscles.

• Must be able to use a step ladder to reach higher placed shelves up to 6.5 feet

• Must be able to use cleaning supplies, examples are, but not limited to; glass cleaner, bleach wipes, furniture polish.

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
