What are GHGs (greenhouse gases)?

GHGs, or greenhouse gases, are gases in the Earth's atmosphere that trap heat and contribute to the greenhouse effect, leading to global warming and climate change. The most common greenhouse gases include carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (N2O), and fluorinated gases. These gases can be emitted through natural processes and human activities such as burning fossil fuels, agriculture, and industrial processes. Monitoring and reducing GHG emissions is crucial for mitigating climate change and protecting the environment.
