Senior Accountant

As Gervasi continues to grow as one of Northeast Ohio's most celebrated hospitality destinations, we are looking for a detail-driven Senior Accountant who can help protect that foundation, strengthen our processes, and support smarter decision-making across the organization.

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of Gervasi Vineyard's financial information. In this role, you will support the general ledger, monthly close, financial reporting, payroll and benefits-related entries, and accounts payable processes. You will also help modernize the Accounting department by supporting AP automation tools, AI-assisted invoice capture, automated workflows, and other process improvements that make the finance function faster, more accurate, and more efficient.

What You'll Do

• Support monthly close procedures, ensuring work is completed accurately and on schedule.
• Prepare and record liability, revenue, payroll, employee time and benefit data, payables, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information in accordance with Gervasi processes.
• Maintain the general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing trial balances, and reconciling entries.
• Prepare and deliver timely, accurate financial reports that help management make informed, data-driven decisions.
• Assist with Accounts Payable and Payroll functions, including invoice coding, data entry, and employee time and data record accuracy to help ensure vendors are paid accurately and on time.
• Support and help maintain Accounts Payable automation tools and workflows, including AI-assisted invoice capture and approval routing; enter data and troubleshoot exceptions as needed.
• Identify and recommend opportunities to apply AI and automation tools within general ledger, financial reporting, and accounts payable processes to improve accuracy, speed, and efficiency, including tools embedded in Excel and QuickBooks.
• Protect the organization's value by keeping financial and business information confidential.
• Stay current in the field by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining professional networks, and engaging with professional organizations.
• Monitor and adhere to Gervasi internal controls.

• Comfort learning and using AI-powered accounting and automation tools, including intelligent invoice capture, automated reconciliations, AI-assisted reporting, and workflow automation.
• A proactive mindset for identifying ways to streamline repetitive manual processes through technology.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's or associate degree in Accounting preferred.
• Strong understanding of accounting theory required.
• Five or more years of accounting or finance experience preferred.
• Experience with accounting automation or AI-enabled finance tools is a plus.
