Gervasi Destinations is seeking a warm vibrant personality to provide exceptional customer service to our guests. The Event Sales Specialist is responsible for ensuring an exceptional experience from the moment the guest makes an event inquiry until the guest is fully booked and handed off to the appropriate outlet for event execution.
This is a Full Time Salary Position with Benefits. Applicant must have full availability and schedule flexibility.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to enthusiastically answer the phone, respond to voicemails, and reply to emails same day.
- Ability to meet with clients to initiate the sales process, discuss packages and make the sale. Onsite walking tours, property overview to really ‘seal the deal’.
- Ability to learn and master OPERA and other computerized programs to fully meet job expectations.
- Ability to process bookings and payment as needed upon receipt of signed agreement.
- Ability to hand-off signed Villa Grande/Pavilion events to Director of Sales to be assigned to event coordinators.
- Ability to assign then hand-off all restaurant events to Restaurant Coordinators, Managers and all parties involved.
- Ability to multi-task and follow-up immediately (less than 48 hours) with all sales inquiries.
- Ability to seek advisement for contract rates, event packages and pricing, villa pricing, and rental fees with managers to solidify package purchases.
- Ability to provide the accounting department with accurate billing information and proper invoicing of clients.
- Ability to focus on outbound sales efforts (example: weekly corporate follow up, Christmas repeat reach out, etc.)
- Ability to attend conventions, conferences, bridal shows and sales meetings to develop industry knowledge and promote sales as needed.
- Ability to read, write and eloquently and professionally speak the English language sufficient to understand menus, special promotions, record orders, communicate with guests and email correspondence
- Ability to remain courteous, friendly, and professional to guests, co-workers, and supervisors at all times.
- Ability to effectively deal with customer complaints and concerns in a friendly and positive manner. This involves listening to the nature of the concern, demonstrating empathy with the customer and providing positive and proactive solutions.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by Management.
Requirements:
- Sales experience preferred (1+years).
- Computer experience required.
- Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel experience required.
- Open Table and OPERA experience preferred.
- Must be available to work Saturdays.
- Grooming: All Employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available)
