Overview:
We are seeking aSenior Full Stack .NET & GIS Developer who will support our NYS client.
This role will design, develop, and enhance enterprise full stack applications using Microsoft .NET, Azure, SQL Server, and ESRI ArcGIS technologies. The consultant will support the Linear Integrated Ordered Network Redesign by building geospatial editing tools, integrating GIS and enterprise systems, optimizing spatial data workflows, and delivering secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
Duties:

  • Develop full stack applications using C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET, .NET Core, .NET 9.0, Entity Framework, MVC, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern front-end frameworks.
  • Design, develop, and enhance ESRI ArcGIS Pro applications, custom extensions, editing tools, scripts, and workflows for linear and point spatial features.
  • Build and integrate RESTful APIs, application interfaces, and integration flows using Visual Studio and enterprise development platforms.
  • Develop scalable cloud-based solutions using Azure App Service, Azure SQL Database, Azure Functions, and related Azure services.
  • Design, optimize, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle/Oracle Spatial, PostgreSQL/PostGIS, spatial databases, and file geodatabases.
  • Automate GIS workflows using Python, ArcPy, Arcade, Model Builder, and related geoprocessing tools.
  • Manage, process, convert, validate, and analyze geospatial data while ensuring dataset integrity, accuracy, quality, and performance.
  • Integrate GIS applications and data with enterprise platforms and third-party systems to improve workflows and data accessibility.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and interface designers to gather requirements and align user-facing components with server-side logic.
  • Participate in code reviews, troubleshoot complex application issues, and implement improvements that support quality, stability, security, and maintainability.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, system designs, workflows, user guides, and knowledge transition materials.
  • Communicate project status, technical recommendations, risks, and delivery expectations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Mandatory Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of professional experience in full stack .NET application development.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience with C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET, .NET Core, .NET 9.0, Entity Framework, MVC, Microsoft SQL Server, and Azure.
  • 4+ years of experience designing and developing ArcGIS Pro and/or ArcMap-based GIS solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with ArcGIS Maps SDK for .NET, Python, ArcPy, Arcade, and Model Builder for ArcGIS Pro editing tools and extensions.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Server, Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Data Store, ArcSDE, ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Online, and ArcMap.
  • Experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs and enterprise system interfaces.
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and a modern front-end framework such as React or Angular.
  • Experience working with geospatial data types in Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle/Oracle Spatial, and PostgreSQL/PostGIS.
  • Strong knowledge of software architecture principles, design patterns, secure coding standards, and development best practices.
  • Experience with Git, GitHub, version control, and release management practices.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders and communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, identify end-user needs, and propose practical technical solutions.

Desirable Qualifications:
  • Experience with DevOps practices and continuous integration/continuous delivery tools.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub extensions, or related application lifecycle management tools.
  • Knowledge of emerging GIS technologies and modern geospatial application development trends.
  • Microsoft Azure certification.
  • Master’s degree in a related field.

Educational & Certification Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Geographic Information Systems, or a related field.
