Job description

Octus is seeking a skilled, motivated full-stack software engineer to join our DataOps Engineering team. The DataOps Engineering team is focused on internal user-facing applications that build and maintain the core internal web and data platform, enabling users to ingest key data that is core to the company's business.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to build, ship, maintain and support core data-intensive applications in collaboration with a strong team of application developers, devops engineers, and data scientists. You will play an essential role in bringing to life new applications, integrating with and supporting existing applications, and contributing to our growing tech ecosystem.

Responsibilities
  • Designing, writing, testing, reviewing, maintaining, deploying and supporting well-engineered VueJS frontend and Django-Python backend software.
  • Integrating with, and maintaining our existing applications in VueJS and Django-Python.
  • Improving our test coverage and maintaining high test-coverage across our apps.
  • Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Collaborate with UI/UX designers to translate design concepts (in Figma) into functional and visually appealing user interfaces, ensuring a seamless and intuitive user experience.
  • Collaborate with other application developers, devops engineers, QA, and data scientists to enhance Octus's internal web and data platform.
  • Work with devops and data science teams to integrate data pipelines and models into our products and services.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or Engineering
  • 2-3 years experience in application development and deployment
  • Proven expertise with VueJS and Django-Python.
  • Proven experience with relational databases. Experience with PostgreSQL is a plus.
  • Experience with caching frameworks (like Redis) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with DevOps and agile development methodologies.
  • Knowledge of AWS and REST APIs
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, openness to feedback and a growth mindset (inclination towards continuous learning)
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, and team player mindset
  • Professional experience working in the finance industry is a plus
  • Background in handling information extraction and retrieval tasks from financial industry-related documents is a plus

The salary range estimate for this position is $110,000 - $120,000 plus an annual bonus.ย 

The actual compensation will be at Reorg's sole discretion and will be determined by the aforementioned and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for an annual year-end performance bonus.
