WO-003 Data Layer Engineer Position Summary
The Data Layer Engineer supports mission-critical objectives under the referenced work order by designing, implementing, and optimizing data transformation workflows for geospatial and non-geospatial datasets. This role manages ETL processes, data structuring, and schema management with expertise in ESRI geospatial data layers and cloud-based geospatial services. This future opportunity is contingent upon award. Job Description
• The Data Layer Engineer is responsible for designing and optimizing ETL processes, data structuring, and schema management.
• The position requires working with ESRI geospatial data layers, ArcGIS Enterprise, and cloud-based geospatial services.
• Engineers will implement data governance frameworks and metadata/data cataloging solutions.
• The role includes ensuring compliance with DoD and IC data security policies. Required Qualifications and Experience
The contractor shall provide personnel who meet one of the following requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Data Management, Information Science, Computer Science, or a related field; or
• A minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in data governance. Candidates must have demonstrated experience in the following areas:
• Developing and managing data governance frameworks.
• Implementing metadata and data cataloging solutions.
• Ensuring compliance with DoD and IC data security policies.
• Working with tools such as Databricks Unity Catalog, Collibra, Alation, AWS Glue, or Azure Purview.
• Managing ESRI geospatial data layers and Kubernetes-hosted geospatial applications. Required Skills and Competencies
• Expertise in ETL processes, data structuring, and schema management.
• Working knowledge of PostgreSQL/PostGIS, SQL Server, NoSQL databases.
• Proficiency in cloud storage solutions (AWS S3, Azure Blob, Google Cloud Storage).
• Strong understanding of Databricks Unity Catalog, Collibra, Alation, AWS Glue, and Azure Purview.
• Ability to manage ESRI geospatial data layers and cloud-based geospatial services. Education
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) (Preferred, Not Required)
• DAMA Certified Data Governance Professional (DGSP) (Preferred, Not Required)
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate (Preferred, Not Required) Clearance Requirement
• An active TS/SCI security clearance is required for on-site duty location.
