Job description

Position Summary

The Full-Stack Data Engineer supports mission-critical objectives under the referenced work order by developing, maintaining, and optimizing data integration pipelines, API services, and front-end interfaces for accessing and visualizing geospatial and structured data. This role implements RESTful and GraphQL APIs for seamless data retrieval and integration between Data Lake, ESRI ArcGIS, and external sources.

Job Description

  • The Full-Stack Data Engineer is responsible for developing and deploying full-stack applications enabling data visualization, dashboarding, and analytics within ESRI-based GIS platforms.
  • The position requires implementing RESTful and GraphQL APIs for seamless data retrieval and integration between Data Lake, ESRI ArcGIS, and external sources.
  • Engineers will manage CI/CD pipelines, containerized deployments in Kubernetes, and API authentication mechanisms.
  • The role includes optimizing database queries and indexing strategies for large-scale geospatial and structured datasets.

Required Qualifications and Experience

The contractor shall provide personnel who meet one of the following requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field; or
  • A minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in full-stack development and data engineering.

Candidates must have demonstrated experience in the following areas:

  • Developing interactive web-based data portals.
  • Implementing API-driven data exchange.
  • Integrating geospatial data layers into web applications.
  • Working with Databricks, ESRI ArcGIS Feature Services, OpenLineage, and metadata management solutions.
  • Managing CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployments in Kubernetes.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Expertise in Python, JavaScript (React, Angular, Vue), SQL, and RESTful API design.
  • Working knowledge of Databricks, ESRI ArcGIS Feature Services, and OpenLineage.
  • Proficiency in full-stack development, database architecture, and API integration.
  • Strong software development skills in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Ability to implement scalable data-driven applications and optimize database queries.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate (Preferred, Not Required)
  • AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty (Preferred, Not Required)
  • ESRI Web GIS Developer Certification (Preferred, Not Required)

Clearance Requirement

  • An active TS/SCI security clearance is required for on-site duty location.
