Are you a Geology professional who is looking for career growth? Nevada Gold Mines' (NGM) Mineral Resource Management team has the perfect opportunity for you!
At Nevada Gold Mines, the District Geologic Modeler is a technical and leadership role responsible for developing, maintaining, and advancing fit-for-purpose geological models that directly support resource growth, mine planning, and operational excellence. This role leads the implementation of best-practice 3D geological modeling workflows by integrating geological, geophysical, and geochemical data with field observations to deliver high-quality, defensible interpretations.
You will work closely with mine and resource geologists, engineers, operations, and data scientists to ensure geological models meet business needs, industry standards, and operational timelines-while continuously improving how we model and understand our orebodies.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and promote Nevada Gold Mines' Journey to Zero safety culture and company values with an emphasis on visible felt leadership and time in the field
  • Deliver high-priority geological model updates on schedule to support business needs.
  • Establish and maintain fit-for-purpose geologic modeling standards aligned with deposit geology.
  • Track model delivery timelines throughout the district
  • Communicate progress, risks, and opportunities to key stakeholders.
  • Provide training and technical guidance on geological modeling and domaining best practices.
  • Continuously improve and innovate geological modeling and estimation workflows.
  • Conduct regular field visits to mentor teams and validate geological models.
  • Ensure compliance with role responsibilities, annual deliverables, and company standards.
  • Work closely with Mine and Resource Geologists to set modeling priorities aligned with operational requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to support short- and long-term mine planning, maximizing ore recovery and minimizing dilution.
  • Support grade control, orebody knowledge transfer, and optimization of mill feed quality.
  • Integrate drilling, mapping, and reconciliation data to improve model accuracy and performance.
  • Support optimization of the mine plan and communicate geological risks and opportunities.
  • Assist the Geology Superintendent as needed and support model validation across the geology value chain.
  • Ensure model documentation meets company standards and best practices
  • Follow all HS&E policies and procedures, identify and mitigate risks, and promote safe work practices.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Geology, Earth Science, Geological Engineering, or a related field
  • Ability to learn commonly used mining software
  • Minimum ten (10) years' experience in mining or exploration geology preferred.
  • Highly proficient geologic modeling skills required in Leapfrog Geo.
  • Demonstrate a genuine ability to work cooperatively with others as part of a leadership team and encourage collaboration, trust, and transparency across the organization.
  • Forward-thinking and adaptable to dynamic situations
