This is a temporary part-time position (~ 3 hours per week) to directly support laboratory research in the Corey Lab in the Vaccine and Infectious Diseases Division (VIDD). The Lab Aide will work closely with Dr. Anton Sholukh and they will be responsible for performing laboratory experiments, interpreting the results, and communicating results to Dr. Sholukh.
Responsibilities
  • Perform modeling of antibody structures with HSV antigens.
  • Design and perform experiments on generation cell lines expressing HSV glycoproteins on the surface.
  • Design and perform experiments to test binding of HSV antibodies with HSV glycoproteins expressed on cell surface.
  • Analyze flow cytometer readout using FlowJo software and interpret results.
  • Assist in testing of serum responses to the experimental HSV vaccines.
  • Communicate progress and results to project PIs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School diploma or equivalent with an interest in the sciences.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Excellent computer skills, including the ability to use MS word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an excellent work ethic.
  • Flexible and able to work independently without supervision.

The hourly pay range for this position is from $21.30 to $30.13 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
Although Fred Hutch is not sponsoring most H-1B visas at this time, candidates who already hold an H-1B sponsored by another organization and are currently in the U.S. may be eligible for this position.
