Job description

The Center for Youth: Started BY YOUTH FOR YOUTH. We partner with youth to realize their full potential, by creating opportunities, removing barriers and promoting social justice.
Overview:
Our free, confidential and voluntary, 13-bed shelter serves youth, 12-17 years old, for up to 30 days. Counselors provide nonjudgmental, individualized support to help youth reunite with their families or find alternative, stable housing.
Schedule: Part Time.
  • Sunday- 2:00pm-10:00pm, Monday- 7:30am-3:00pm, Friday- 7:30am-3:00pm, Saturday- 3:00pm-9:30pm

Responsibilities:
  • Supervision of: wake-up, clean-up, daily chores and bedtime
  • Distribution of medications and appropriate documentation
  • Liaison with Intake and Emergency Shelter Support (Counseling) teams
  • Individual counseling and mentoring
  • After-hour response, assessment and intake of youth in need
  • Development and supervision of social, cultural and recreational activities
  • Crisis/conflict/prevention/intervention, response and intervention
  • Maintenance of accurate and timely program records
  • Maintenance of facility and grounds
  • Daily meal planning and preparation

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field AND 1-2 years' experience in a residential youth program OR Equivalent
  • A valid Driver's license
