Lead Electrician (Base & Generator Installations)
Department: Technicians

Description
Come join one of the largest residential electrical construction companies in Texas! In Charge Electric is expanding our base power and generator operations in the Houston area and is hiring a skilled Service Electrician to support residential electrical service and generator installations.
This position will work on a dedicated base service line and assist with residential electrical repairs, upgrades, generator installations, and related service needs.
If you're a strong residential service electrician who takes pride in doing it right and enjoys helping customers understand their options, we want to talk with you. Full details of the compensation plan will be shared during the interview process.
What You'll Do
  • Diagnose and repair residential electrical issues
  • Complete residential electrical service upgrades and installations
  • Install, troubleshoot, and service residential standby generators and related equipment
  • Install and service transfer switches and associated electrical components
  • Recommend appropriate safety, reliability, and electrical system improvements
  • Explain repair and installation options clearly to homeowners
  • Maintain accurate service documentation and communicate job progress to management
  • Follow all applicable electrical codes, safety procedures, and company standards
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Provide professional and respectful customer service while working in customers' homes

What We're Looking For
  • Current Texas Residential Wireman license required
  • Texas Journeyman Electrician license preferred
  • At least 2-5 years of residential electrical installation or service experience
  • Generator installation, troubleshooting, or maintenance experience strongly preferred
  • Experience working with residential electrical panels, service upgrades, transfer switches, and related equipment
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Customer-focused communication skills and the ability to explain electrical solutions clearly
  • Detail-oriented workmanship with a commitment to quality and safety
  • Results-driven and willing to do what it takes to complete each job correctly
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving history
  • Willingness to complete pre-employment background checks, including criminal, driving, and drug screenings
  • High school diploma or equivalent
