Clyde’s of Gallery Place, one of Clyde's Restaurant Group's busiest concepts, is seeking a General Manager. Clyde's of Gallery Place is located in the renewed Penn Quarter neighborhood in Washington DC, and is steps from the Capital One Arena.


This position is ideal for a General Manager with experience managing large teams in an upscale, complex, high-volume, and creatively dynamic restaurant and bar scene — think 500+ seats, a team of 150+, and annual sales of $8M+. The right candidate must be able to uphold high standards and deliver an elevated level of guest service consistently.

WHAT YOU WILL DO AS A GENERAL MANAGER

  • Set the engaging hospitality tone and energy that defines one of DC's busiest dining and bar destinations
  • Set and maintain guest service standards
  • Lead a large, multi-layered FOH operation across lunch, dinner, brunch, late night, and pre/post-event volume
  • Interview, hire, train, schedule and develop front of the house (FOH) managers and employees
  • Work the floor hands-on — greet guests, process checks, and investigate and resolve customer complaints in real time
  • Interact with guests in a genuine and friendly manner to establish a personal, professional rapport with regulars and first-time visitors alike
  • Develop and manage the annual financial plan for the restaurant — sales, labor, cost of goods, controllables, and operating income
  • Complete performance reviews and assign developmental goals for dining room managers and employees based on observed performance
  • Lead daily menu class and ensure the team is fluent in every dish, ingredient, and beverage
  • Direct employees in safety, health, and sanitation standards
  • Lead monthly inventory in close partnership with the culinary team
  • Set service goals and hold the team accountable, supported by clear agendas and follow-through in manager and departmental meetings
  • Partner closely with the Executive Chef on menu planning, cost control, and seamless FOH/BOH execution

  • 3+ years' experience as a General Manager in a large high-volume restaurant (capacity of 500+, 150+ employees, and annual sales of $8M+)
  • Proven ability to uphold high standards and deliver elevated guest service shift after shift
  • Strong financial acumen — P&L ownership, forecasting, scheduling, labor management, and cost control
  • Great verbal and written communication skills
